Did Cobweb tonight. Did not expect that to get
so nasty! I had no idea where it was going the entire time so that really made me enjoy it. Big Barbarian vibes in the third act, which is a huge plus for me.

  4. Our best friends are visiting us from Texas and we let the ladies pick, so it was House on Haunted Hill (1999) and The Crow tonight (broken up by a local Halloween news special from the early 2000s. Not many trock-or-treaters this year, but a great Halloween.

New Hell House LLC is just as creepy as the first. Absolutely loved it. The realism of those movies had my skin crawling like I was a little kid watching Blair Witch for the first time.

  6. Showed my friends Hubie Halloween! I didn't realize how stacked the cast was, so many people from SNL

I think I saw this asked already but can’t find it.. is it alright to jump in blind to the new Hell House? I saw the first one years ago but don’t remember anything.

I’d probably rewatch the first one for some context, but it’s still freaky even if you’re missing some context of the history and connections.

Should we do a little post-mortem on Gore-Us? Share your list, if you didn’t make it all the way through no worries.

What were your favorites, any surprises, or things you’ll watch every year from now on?

Things you liked or didn’t like about the process. If we do it again next year, is there anything we should change or improve?

I barely made it myself. I don’t know this year felt a little different and time just ran out before I knew it. I fell asleep during the last movie on my list, Dead Silence. I’d already seen it before so no biggie. I was trying to only do movies I hadn’t seen before, but halfway through I realized I wouldn’t finish unless I used some that I was re-watching. Kinda hard to get the significant other to agree to some of the categories so that limited a lot of my time to when she went to bed.

Some first time watched that I really like: The Dark Half, Cobweb, Dark Harvest, Scary Tales, Dracula (1979), Popcorn

My first time watching The Fly. A fantastic movie, it just reinforces the fact that body horror is really not my jam.

I’ve seen The Mothman Prophecies several times, but this watch resonated a lot more with me. There are some legit creepy things in there. The whole when you stare into the void, sometimes the void stares back, or as they put it, “you noticed them, and they notice that you noticed them”, really paired well with some of the real-life stories I was listening to at the time.

I think The Curse was the closest thing to a stinker that I watched, but it wasn’t bad, some gnarly makeup effects after things started to get weird.

All in all, a fun time and hope we do it again.

shocked that I actually enjoyed it considering how much I fucking hate the first

  22. I only got halfway through, I'm gonna try to finish Gore-Us eventually. Pretty ironic that the only progress I made was in September. I was gone on vacation for that last week of October, and before that I spent three weeks (re)watching Flanagan shows. Also I blame Starfield for taking over my life. I did finish S4 of WWDITS while I was away, in between all the hiking and driving.

I'm only like half way through Gore-Us (after I said I thought I could get through it twice lmao) - I'm gonna try to finish up in the next couple weeks though. Still have a lot I wanted to see but just ran out of time.

Am I the only one that takes a horror sabbatical after Halloween through Christmas? Unless like something major is released.

I have crammed so much in since mid-September that I’ll take a break soon too.

I am going through the Friday the 13th movies now, but I won’t devote every night to a horror movie. Looking forward to watching all of our Christmas favorites.
