Was lucky enough to catch a double feature of Halloween and Halloween II at a drive-in in 2020. Such a cool experience.

Speaking of which, going to see Halloween in theaters in about an hour. It will be my first time seeing it in an actual theater, so I’m excited.

    I forgive a lot because I love a 79 minute runtime.

I have a lot of nostalgia and built in love for Hocus Pocus but is there a reason that they made Winnie look so much like the queen of hearts from Alice in Wonderland?

This is one of my all time favorite movies. It scared me as a kid and I loved it anyway.

yeah the way she was written/way the actress delivered the lines and the personality, just made her very likable and “up my alley” so to speak, and the whole big hair/denim jacket sleeves rolled up and then the Halloween costume…teenager me was all about it haha. Me and my wife did an 80s couples costume a few years back and i told her I found it very attractive and luckily she did not divorce me for it:crylaugh:

I think part of why Revenge isn’t as good is the god awful mask, but I’m pretty sure that’s been discussed half to death.
It’s also where it started to get really weird with the “psychic connection”…I frankly didn’t need the supernatural elements with Michael Myers. Unstoppable monster that just keeps trucking for some unknown reason was always good enough for me. At least curse made it a bit interesting.

yeah lol Halloween 4 is genuinely good, probably the best one outside the big 3. 5 absolutely sucks

Don’t fall under the Tina spell. Or do.

the Monster Squad mention made me say fuck it and rent it on Amazon prime. Fuck I love this movie. Completely forgot that Uncle Rico/Greg from white lotus was the Wolfman.

Did Night of the Demons and The Midnight Hour today. Pretty great double feature. Similar concepts and both have iconic dance scenes and great soundtracks.

@OhTheWater the version of The Midnight Hour you have is way better than the one I've been watching, I can finally see what's actually going on.

It's not horror but Fun Size is better than it has a right to be. Pretty decent coming of age Halloween romp, surprisingly horny for a Nickelodeon movie.

Has this world stopped asking what it's thinking?

Watched When Evil Lurks tonight. The gore and kills were genuinely shocking at times. While it is for sure bleak, I didn’t find it as disturbing as Speak No Evil. I felt dirty after watching that one.

Was it the dog attacking the little girl?

  18. I expected Death Bed to be a hokey B-movie, not a nightmarish arthouse horror flick with some genuinely unsettling stuff (and, yes, bad acting lol). Only 78 minutes and on YouTube.

When Evil Lurks was pretty fucked. one plot point was suuuuper questionable though and stopped me enjoying it more, but some good moments in there

Speak No Evil definitely disturbed me more too.

Two scenes actually! That one and the mother eating her son’s brain

Watched Eyes of Fire last night, which I absolutely loved. Extremely creative filmmaking and wild in the best way. I had read it was an influence on The Witch and I could certainly see how.

Also started Dark Harvest, which…yikes. Horrible lighting, messy, and awful writing. We had fun hate watching it though.
