I love The Returns of Michael Meyers. Still want to squeeze that one in this year.

I saw Killers of the Flower Moon last night at the theater was PACKED with Kkids for Five Nights at Freddy's. As much as it made me wish it was an original thing and not IP, it made me happy to see a theater full of kids excited to see a PG-13 horror film.

 

I always enjoyed Return and Revenge even though they’re inferior to the OG.

I blame Tina in 5 for my attraction to “80s girls”/80s look lol. Def had a crush on her when I was younger

 

I’m watching Monster Squad right now. I’m gonna start wearing leather fingerless gloves.

 

Straight up on my recent rewatch of the series she was so distracting lol. I just thinking “That’s a very attractive female”.

Okay for how terrible Monsters of California is I was pretty entertained.

 

I know people lump Return and Revenge of Michael Myers together, but I think Revenge is the worst in the series next to H2 (2009) while Return is top five

 

The fact that you confused them makes me more excited for Flux Gourmet now

Saving When Evil Lurks for Halloween night, but supposedly more fucked up and bleak than Speak No Evil is … wow. I need to rewatch Terrified too, really enjoyed that.

 

Watched The Faculty last night because it was mentioned in here and it was so much fun! Much dumber than I remember it being (but I was probably like 10 when I last saw it) but an absolute blast.

 

Malum: Not everything worked for me and I wish a lot of the acting was better, especially the lead (the sex worker was pretty good), but the imagery, make-up and overall was fuuucked up. Kind of lump it in with that The Void, Haunt, and Clown tier.

I watched Last Shift a few months back and really liked it. Still need to get around to Malum at some point. Seems like it’s not as well regarded in some circles.

 

Full disclosure, I haven’t seen Last Shift yet.

 

The sheriff in Blair Witch 2 sounds just like the old man in TTCM to me and I can’t unhear it. Also hell yeah Burn Notice

Okay never mind about the sheriff haha, it must’ve been like, one phrase only that reminded me of him

 

Watched Smile last night for the first time, really enjoyed it. Last 10-15 minutes or so wasn’t the best and a little deflating/cliche but overall was a good time.

 

There is one scene that’s going to stick with me for a loooong time

Watches Five Nights at Freddy's because I thought it would be funny to pair with Killers of the Flower Moon last night lol. Honestly, as someone relatively unfamiliar with the games, it wasn't bad! There's some weird plot stuff at the beginning of the third act that keeps it from being...well, good lol but it looks great and has more heart than I really ever expected. I don't know if this is a recommendation, and Willy's Wonderland runs laps around it, but I found it to be charming and watchable.

 

I just love all the subtle details in there. the kid with the razor in his mouth, the drunk doctor. Loomis using the lighter he absent mindedly took from the cop to ignite the gas at the end. I know people say Carpenter phoned in the script but I always thought it was a very thoughtfully written sequel, a lot of cool background stuff

 

I love Talk to Me and Smile. Possibly more than I do Malignant and Barbarian, tbh. Bonkers horror is fun, sure, but emotional horror is where it's at. That's why Flanagan usually resonates so much for me

 

The first 20 minutes of Halloween 2 are perfect. All the sequels would be immediately upgraded if they got to shoot in Pasadena.
