Finished some Extra Credit for Gore-Us with Pennywise: The Story of It. Liked it a lot.

That mini-series is one of the first things I remember watching that scared the shit out of me, specifically the scene with the kids looking at the scrapbook and the picture coming to life. Very cool to see how it all came together.

watched Conjuring 2 again tonight. there's some good scares in there but the human element is really what made these movies stick out and what all the spin-offs are missing. like that scene where Ed plays guitar for the family, how many possession movies would bother with a scene like that?

all in all I think it's a stronger movie with just the Crooked Man stuff but the finale has its moments. it's kinda funny that Lorraine says Valak only looks like a nun to mess with her and you even see it turn back into a standard demon shape before it disappears but now we have two unnecessary movies explaining why she always looked like a nun lmao. I hate the cinematic universeing of everything so much

 

The Fall of the House of Usher was really great. I’d put it third behind Hill House and Midnight Mass respectively

Was hoping I'd get the chance to watch it this month.

 

I had low expectations going in and ended up liking it quite a bit. It's a very cool concept and works better than the book, Sawtooth Jack looks pretty cool, there are some gnarky kills and decent performances. It's pretty cheesy and takes itself really seriously, but it's kind of nice to have no winking at the camera and no "well... that just happened" moments.

 

The first one was pretty cool.

 

Almost done with the lost boys for the first time and it’s not good or even that fun.

 

Now that I'm a mod I should at least give you warning points for that.
