Reboot rules.

 

I remember thinking it wasn't able to handle the themes it was trying to tackle, and there being weird vestiges of plotlines that went absolutely nowhere. Seemed like a lot of my issues were with direction and performances, and that DaCosta didn't really know what she was going for, or if she did, she wasn't able to realize it. I had high expectations though, and am willing to give it another shot. I'm interested in seeing what she does with The Marvels as I came away from this thinking she either wasn't very a very good director or was too green to handle something as ambitious.

 

Imo, that’s funny but also dope at the same time

 

Never Sleep Again is a top ten documentary about film

 

I liked, but didn't love the Candyman reboot. Real three bears situation in here!

 

I also really liked the new Candyman, much more than the original actually

 

I’m all in on this Strangers trilogy

 

Guess I should watch the original one

 

You should watch Prey at Night instead!

 

Also OG Candyman is one of the best to ever do it.

 

Is the first one not very good?

 

I know most people really love it, probably more than the sequel, but I am unfortunately not in that camp. Love Prey at Night, though

 

Boy, the Weinsteins really fucked up Cursed, huh? The movie is fun and looks shockingly good, the practical effects stuff is great, but the editing in the third act is wack as hell and the reveal(s) feels so inconsequential. Apparently the R-rated Craven cut still exists, I would love to see that.

 

I'll take your recommendation then. Fuck it why not

 

Enjoy! Report back. The original is probably worth watching, I just find it to be kind of derivative and boring and overhyped based on the ending. The sequel is a standalone I believe.

 

I love the original and Prey at Night pretty equally for different reasons, so I’d definitely recommend watching both

 

I’ve actually never seen Prey at Night but the OG is a blast.

 

Looks like this is just a Shout gimmick, still pretty cool though

 

Unfortunately it kind of sucked.

Not here to victim blame, but as far a movie watching experience goes, I didn't really enjoy watching 90 minutes of people complaining about a poor choice they made. I think Russ is manipulative and criminal, but it was just a bunch of consenting adults who literally said "the waiver could have said a man is going to come out of the woods and murder you and I would have signed it" complaining about how bad he was the entire movie.

 

I have the R rated version on DVD, does make it a bit better but I still don’t care for the movie much lol

 

Friday the 13th.

 

Anybody else have a tattoo dedicated to Friday the 13th (the day, not necessarily the movie)? I simply just have “13” tattooed on my wrist in honor of the day and movie

 

Not sure which F13(s) I'll do tonight. Gonna play a couple matches of the game too
