felt like something classic tonight so threw on the changeling. such a great movie, this comfy autumnal atmosphere that doesn't stop it from being absolutely terrifying at parts. i've seen a lot of intense horror over the years, very little stuff freaks me out as much as that proto-raimi shot of the camera stalking up the stairs with the seance dialogue playing. haunting af

just a high quality ghost movie. belongs right next to exorcist 3 on the shelf of george c scott horrors with surprisingly great writing and character work which go a very different way than you expect

 

this was quite good. definitely worth checking out if it's playing near you - think it'll be on Shudder sometime soon

 

Oddly enough, did not hate Exorcist, better than the last two Halloweens (which isn’t saying much for some, haha).

 

Covid booster kicked my butt the last few days, but I'm feeling better now and excited to get back into spooky season with a Bly Manor rewatch

 

Damning with faint praise haha.

Gonna watch Totally Killer and Talk to Me this weekend.

I've made peace that I don't really expect greatness from any but tis the season

 

I know people seemed to really like Saw X. might be worth seeing that

I'd probably just do Venice because it's the only one interesting to me

 

The only one I’ve seen is a haunting in Venice and it’s not really creepy/scary at all.

Has anyone seen Boys in Trees? I don't think it's horror, but it takes place on Halloween and looks pretty cool. Never heard anyone talk about it though.
