Watched VHS for the first time and loved it. Downloading 2 and Viral now. Stoked for those.

Thoroughly enjoyed 1 and 2 but it kinda fell off with Viral if I am getting my segments correct.

The Creepshow S2 premiere was solid. I was really lukewarm on the first season but this was a strong opener, especially the second story.

  4. 2 is such a blast. Viral def drops off but is still pretty fun.

Not exactly horror per se but I watched the first three episodes of Servant this weekend at a friends and loved it. Rupert’s American accent struggles badly at times but I feel a strong need to catch up on the rest.

  7. Man, this is probably the third time I've seen it, but I'm still SHOCKED at how good the Dawn of the Dead remake is. It might not touch the original, but that's a top three horror film for me and my second favorite zombie flick of all time.

The casting, performances, and music are all great. Easily one of the strongest remakes from that 2000s era. Makes me excited to try Land of the Dead.

  8. In fact, it DOES touch the original in the sense that it's relatively long (almost two hours) and I didn't feel it's length. Honestly felt like I could have spent more time in that world with those characters.

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

Land of the Dead was super disappointing.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I thought Land of the Dead was pretty much just average, it's got some good performances and design but I couldn't tell you a thing about the rest of it

Diary is genuinely creative as hell, super engaging and just massively underrated on the whole

Survival... I did not make it all the way through but what I saw was truly painfully bad

Been slacking with movies as a whole lately. I did pick up an Alien series collection from Best Buy yesterday.

    tonight I’m doing AvP

  12. AvP is so much fun. The sequel is unwatchable though

Finally caught the Creepshow premiere. Feel like the second story should be getting way more attention then it is

I can’t decide if I like Requiem or The Predator less.

  15. Well, I genuinely love The Predator, so that's an easy decision for me lol. It's dumb as hell but works for me as a big dumb sci-fi action movie. AvP Requiem is like literally unwatchable in the sense that all the action is close-up and shot in the dark, so you can't see what's happening (in addition to have shitty characters, writing, etc.)

Has this world stopped asking what it's thinking?

Ken Foree is so much better than Leatherface: TCM 3. Haven’t watched this flick in like 20 years.

It had some cool parts for sure but I really didn’t like the characters across the board. To each their own of course.

Dawn of the Dead remake may have been the best theater experience I've ever had. Also, I remember the first 10 minutes were aired on TBS or something like that...it was the first time I remember seeing that used as a marketing tool.

Going to revisit The Crazies (10) tonight. I remember it feeling like a solid spring horror flick.

Dawn of the Dead has James Gunn to thank for a good ass script. I would watch Gunn written, Snyder directed zombie shit all day.

    RE: Land of the Dead

I think it was good for what it was, which is basically George’s original vision for Day. The concept of smart zombies that he laid out in Day is a cool one and while the end result is alright, it def stands out in the 00’s zombie movie wave. Also, the anti-capitalism message of the tower and the slums is more relevant now than it was in 2005, way more actually.

Yeap! I thought the Necronomicon was just gonna be a fun cameo, then the episode went full Evil Dead!
