I enjoyed it more than most. I don't see it being any kind of annual rewatch, but there will be some repeat viewings for sure.

 

somehow I NEVER recognized Abra's mom in Doctor Sleep as Jocelin Donahue from THOTD.

 

The Blackening was very fun and mostly very funny! I'd take a sequel!

 

The Predator snarl at the end got me.

The Last Voyage of the Demeter is actually pretty fun and intriguing. The way they slowly revealed the visual look of Dracula was cool

 

I didn't really like The Innkeepers all that much, either. Again, really good at building tension, but the payoff just doesn't do it for me. I think I like Ti West more when the kills are more spread out rather than mostly towards the end. He's really good at making his films feel older than they actually are, though, really nails the tone

 

I can’t really choose between HotD and Pearl. I think Pearl blew me away more and is probably the superior movie, but I’ve seen House of the Devil close to a dozen times over the years and I have enjoyed every single viewing and always look forward to watching it again. Plus, the cemetery scene is an all timer. Plus, Greta Gerwig. But on the other hand, Mia Goth…

Both are horror favorites of mine and Pearl is an icon.

I definitely want to re-watch his filmography after X (really good) and Pearl (masterpiece). Definitely didn’t care for Innkeepers the first time and thought House of the Devil was ok/pretty good, but maybe I’ll feel differently about them now.

 

Ughhh I love Saint Maud. Will definitely wanna check out whatever horror film Morfydd Clark is starring in

 

Incredible ending that elevated the film, IMO. Due a rewatch.

Same here. I can see why some people think it's boring, but I want to hang out in that atmosphere as long as possible.

 

I remember not loving it, but I should give it another go.

tbh I probably would've liked it more if I hadn't already seen X/Pearl first

 

Finally finished Shadow of the Vampire and it was so good! Very dark, very funny!

 

Y'all should give Last Voyage of the Demeter a shot; pretty decent film, and getting decent reviews

 

I watched it lastnight. "Pretty decent" is an accurate assessment.

 

Same I didn't have any issues with pacing but I know others do. I think Sara Paxton is just so charismatic and likable in it too. Altho it's always a lil jarring when Lena Dunham pops up for a second haha
