Massive DM fan! It’s crazy to me that I once commented (probably in this thread) that I thought James was obnoxious in the first In Search of Darkness documentary. All apologies to James as I absolutely love his content now and my wife who puts up with my horror fandom even digs his kill count videos.

 

I like Dead Meat, I stopped watching a while ago, but have been thinking about throwing them on again.

 

I’m still burnt out on watching movies, but I don’t get why these Tubi originals are bringing me back.

 

It Follows is still so, so good. About as close to a modern classic as you can get. I get way more "loss of innocence" from it though than I do the STD angle.

We should let DRM out of director jail already

 

I've been holding off on rewatching some stuff because I'm planning to show them to my friends as part of the horror movie club I'm doing. I can't wait until we get to It Follows

Man, The Ward is like the most baffling movie. Just how and why is that Carpenter's last film? I almost wish it were worse, just being so milquetoast and uninteresting is more offensive.

 

Because A24 dumped Under the Silver Lake and it was super polarizing

 

He actually has a new film with Anne Hathaway coming at some point

 

Did The Haunted Palace last night. Loved it and whenever I watch something from the 60's with Vincent Price, I always plan to make it a point to watch so much more. Think I will this time and try to work my way through all of the Roger Corman/Vincent Price Poe adaptations. It's funny cause The Haunted Palace is based on Lovecraft but they still slapped Poe's name all over it cause they had so much success with all the other actual Poe adaptations that came before it (House of Usher, The Pit and the Pendulum, Tales of Terror, The Premature Burial)

 

Dope, looks like In Voorhees We Trust was added to the WGAR Patreon, I've been wanting to re-listen to those.

On a related note, I love Andy Daly, but he was not a good guest for The Shining series.

 

Word is that Scream 4 4k release in the works that would drop the fucking soft focus filter!

No clue! I, literally, cannot wait to rewatch this through a different lens. Lol. It may change my ranking.

 

FINALLY watching Shadow of the Vampire. I've wanted to see this for years, but it's never available anywhere.

Does this have something to do with why all of the F13 sequel episodes were pulled from Spotify? Are they only available on Patreon now? I was on FvJ!

 

Oh damn, I didn't realize they were on Spotify. They didn't show up in my podcast app feed so I assumed they were behind the Stitcher pay wall. That sucks.

 

There is still a ton of their stuff on there, but they previously had all of the F13 sequels on there and all the Alien sequels too. Now it's just the first ep of F13, NOES, Halloween, and Alien.

 

Watched Session 9 for the first time last night, holy fuck that had me on edge for the first 2/3rds. The filming location was top notch.

 

The rest of the F13 might be on my Plex if you need them, if not I can probably add them. Not the most convenient way to listen, but it's something.

 

No pressure at all, but if you did add them, I'd probably check them out there. I was actually considering paying for their Patreon soon enough though, cause I love everything I've heard so far. Literally in stitches during some episodes. It's unique to have individuals in the positions that they both are (I did not even realize that they weren't just like, average dudes until way into the F13 episodes and I saw Gourley on Conan's podcast), and yet still have such a love and energy for old slashers and the horror genre at large. Such a cool collision of worlds.
