I’m torn on the Scream Factory 4K reissues, I appreciate them reissuing the OOP stuff but I also wish they’d put out more cool new releases.

I’m a giant fan of the Escape Room movies. They’re perfect in what they are trying to achieve. I’d easily take one every year or two.

  4. Idk if I'd want more than three, but yeah, they really do what they set out to do

It still blows my mind it took this long to make a movie out of that franchise, especially since the popularity has waining for some time and it’s no longer the big popular gaming franchise for kids.

  6. Wow I assumed it was all from a movie originally… hahaha

  7. We already have Willy's Wonderland, it won't be better than that even if that's a ripoff

Oh man, that game series was a juggernaut in the 2010’s. Easily one of the franchises that built the Let’s Play react format that’s a staple of video now. I’d argue it’s one of the biggest franchises in gaming in terms of exposure and merchandising, it’s just crazy big but a lot of the heat has cooled off over time and it may not help the movie ultimately but we’ll see.

  9. Just wanted to take note of all the black actresses in some of my favorite recent horror movies/shows, didn't realize there were so many until I really thought about it. I guess this can serve as a really niche list of recommendations?

Kyliegh Curran in Doctor Sleep (and Fall of the House of Usher!)
T'Nia Miller in Bly Manor (and also Fall of the House of Usher)
    Iman Benson in Midnight Club
Annarah Cymone in Midnight Club and Midnight Mass
Taylor Russell in Bones and All (and Escape Room...)
Storm Reid in Missing (and The Last of Us! shhh no spoilers, I'm playing the game)
    Logan Browning in The Perfection
Nathalie Emmanuel in The Invitation (2022)
Jasmin Savoy Brown in Scream 5+6
    Teyonah Parris in Candyman
Lupita Nyong'o in Us (and Little Monsters lolol)
    Keke Palmer in Nope
    Tessa Thompson in Annihilation

Has anyone seen Janelle Monae in Antebellum? Doesn't have good imdb and rottentomatoes scores.

I feel like I'm forgetting a really obvious one.

  10. Antebellum is on the nose, but I thought it was good. Maybe I went in with lowered expectations

  12. So the four new Terror Vision releases are Srigala (1981), Cube (2021), Welcome to Hell (2021), and Captives (1987). I didn't realize these four would mean the end of my membership, and I've been really satisfied so far, so I'm debating on signing up again for the next 10 or 20 titles (I don't think I can justify spending more than $400 at once). Also, Captives is part of my The Basement/Video Violence big box VHS collection, so I might swap that out for Happy Hell Night.

Anyone else thinking of signing up again and what tier they might grab? Also, anyone see the Japanese Cube remake? I didn't know it existed until now

I am subbing out Cube 2021 for Happy Hell Night. The list of what they plan on releasing in the future is fucking wild haha:

  16. Same lol. Def want to substitute a release for Happy Hell Night, but I'm not sure which. Also not sure which tier to go with (or if my wife will even let me lmao).

In terms of subbing again, I'm not sure. I really am in it for the 80s-90s sleeze, and while it is cool to see some more modern releases getting attention, idk if i need to own them. Rather have lost movies or SOV with a ton of features.

  18. Yeah, for sure. Would help my decision if those plans to release were in order, but I know that's impossible haha. There's like 40 releases there I'm interested in. You're right, may go with the 10 again or just be more selective about what I pick up.

Hahha holy shit, Gary P. Cohen (director of Video Violence and Captives) is in a folk rock band that plays a bunch of festivals and farmers markets and shit around me. I wonder if I can get him to sign my copies.

  22. Sorry for spamming, but here's a nice non-TV post lol. Just watched on my lunch break (in broad daylight) and it still creeped me out.

The ending of that is so chilling

  24. Watched Fall. It's okay.

Free Solo still scariest movie ever made.

  25. Fall stressed me the fuck out. So did Free Solo.
