Really need to watch Braindead. I started it, but the audio was out of sync and I didn't retry after finding a better copy.

Scream is still number one with a bullet for me. I don't know if I count Seven and Silence of the Lambs, but they'd have to be considered up there with the best. I definitely agree Candyman is underrated and glad it's seemed to have a recent re-evaluation and that it's now being considered in the conversation.

People Under the Stairs isn't a great movie but it holds a special place in my heart for aesthetics and cast alone.

Obviously Blair Witch is in my top.

Trying to think of some underrated stuff.

I think In the Mouth of Madness is a pretty underrated '90s horror, especially since it's Carpenter. Nightbreed as well.

Shout out to Arachnophobia, Idle Hands, Bram Stoker's Dracula, and New Nightmare.

Super late to the party but finally watched 2022 Scream and loved it. A lot of fun and the series, especially the last two films, have really made me feel like every character could go since every movie could be the last, which adds a nice suspense that a lot of series don’t have.

Thought that a few of Ritchie’s comedy lines maaaaybe could have been left out as I could see some thinking there were too many but that’s a minor issue.

Will have to rewatch because when they pause the screen on the TV when playing “Stab” that certainly looks me to me like the actual actor that played Billy, which wouldn’t make sense even with how meta the series is but then again I thought they were literally watching Scream at the house party until I looked closer and saw that it wasn’t Jamie Kennedy so I assume the same for the Billy character.

Why are there 8 Stab films but only 5 Scream films? What are we missing!!!!

Minor real life nitpick but find it hard to believe that that particular house would have not been demolished. If not after the initial film at least after 3 or 4 when the masks kept showing up. And no one mentioning that a certain character lives there in the present while all this is going on seems like an obvious purposeful miss to tell the audience for the sake of the reveal later but I’m not mad about it.

Does anyone legit still have a house phone / landline in use? I know some of my aunts do for internet combo deals on price or whatever but was surprised they were used here mixed in with all the new cell phone tech.

    Loved the Dead Meat cameo.

  8. Jacob's Ladder is categorical best imo, The Dentist is most underrated. Both five-star flicks in my book. Tales From the Hood is right on their heels.

I've got plenty of lesser-known four-star flicks if you're looking for more where that came from, haha

Throw them out there. I haven't seen Jacob's Ladder but it's on my list for the year and don't know much about The Dentist. Rewatched Tales From the Hood recently and it's still a lot of fun.

Anyone know if Dr. Giggles is worth a watch? Or Candyman 2?

  10. I would second In the Mouth of Madness and add Audition, The Day of the Beast, Tales From the Darkside: The Movie, Frankenhooker, Tales From the Crypt: Bordello of Blood, The Last Broadcast, and Tremors (if that counts). Gremlins 2, Evil Toons, and Tammy & the T-Rex if you want to get really campy; Child's Play 2, Army of Darkness, and the first two Leprechauns if you're looking for franchise stuff.

  18. There's like two kills! The meta aspect rules but is done much more successfully with Scream! It's boring!

Stoked that Scream is going straight to Paramount Plus! I’ve been unable to see it in theaters and didn’t want to pay $20 to watch it haha

I don’t know if you were having any issues with Overseerr, but I was told by a friend that searching for movies in Overseerr was extremely slow. I believe I have fixed this!

  23. Really feel like Speak No Evil (a movie from last year) doesn't need a remake, especially considering it's already in English lol
