Just started Leprechaun In The Hood. A classic if only for Ice-T.

  2. Space was a tough watch. Back to the Hood is on my list though...

Did Maniac Cop with some friends last night, a sleeper St. Patty's Day horror movie

I wish I could get my girlfriend on board with watching a Leprechaun tonight haha, I think I finally convinced her to watch Pearl though. So that's a win.

The only St. Paddy’s Day thing I did was told my colleague I needed to remote into their computer to run some updates but all I was actually doing was changing their wallpaper to a still from Leprechaun lol

    Which still?

  8. I forgot it was a holiday and was so confused by the sudden group fascination with leprechauns

Wow yeah Pearl is so good

  10. Hell yeah, enjoy! I'm not some huge West guy, liked but didn't love X, but I think Pearl is pretty easily his best next to House of the Devil.

There’s just so much to love

  12. Hell yeah. Goth is so good and she co-wrote the film, so I think that's why the character really shines. Just love the odes to like technicolor films of that era and the way it slowly morphs from like, a psychological drama to a slasher of sorts

The Leprechaun movies are pretty terrible yet somehow Warwick remains an absolute gem of a character as Lubdan.

  14. The first three are at the least very fun

  15. Since Hush and Raw are leaving Netflix soon, I asked my friends if I could show them earlier than I'd previously planned (we were supposed to watch Babysitter 2 today, continuing on with our exploration of horror comedies). So, we went with Hush tonight. They did not have a good time haha. They said it's intense but not too scary, about a 5/10 on the scariness scale. They survived it, though! Talking through it definitely seems to help a lot; I encourage it to make it feel like a more communal experience. I don't think they're gonna let me show them Raw next though haha. Might have to build up to that one a bit more

Oh, I had just googled to find one as HQ as possible (surprisingly difficult!) but of course now I'm not able to find the same one, but it was just him sitting down behind a bottle of whiskey looking pretty evil.

Leprechaun 2 is so much fun.

  17. Really, really enjoyed The Monster on HBO Max. A24 creature feature/emotional drama hybrid from the director of The Strangers. I was surprised to see a lot of lukewarm reviews on Letterboxd, I think it was really well-paced and balanced for what it's going for. Some pretty wild practical effects, too.

  18. Also I remember being underwhelmed the first time I watched Green Room but this movie whips ass

Finally got to see Scream VI. I admittedly haven't been to the theater much in the last couple of years, but is it just a given now that some jackass is going to be on their phone the whole time? It's happened the last two times I've been. Talking full adult men in their 40s and 50s.

Anyway, had a lot of fun other than that. I need to re-watch 5 but I might've like this one more. Some gnarly kills and some legit scary/suspenseful moments.

Oh no. You’ve got maybe 10 seconds on your phone in a theater I’ve bought a ticket in before I’m irritated enough to get staff if the movie is on. Idc if it’s my most Karen-esque feature, I refuse to put up with it.

  22. I'm on my phone during trailers because chances are I've seen them already. I'm only on my phone during the movie if I want to check a notification real quick, usually takes two seconds

  23. I check the time occasionally and keep my brightness all the way down

Last time it happened I asked the guy politely to put it away, he was sitting right next to my girlfriend who was noticeably annoyed. This guy was a couple rows ahead so I was hoping someone else would lol. There were half a dozen children in the theater and they were perfectly behaved, quiet and engaged.

People paid money to see a show. It’s as simple as that to me, and I can’t comprehend how ridiculously attached to phones people are even when they’ve paid for it too. It’s 1 1/2 - 2 hrs of your life without it. I was pretty exaggerated before but truly, talking during the movie or being real distracting is a huge pet peeve of mine.
