  1. Sounds like the new Insidious will take us back to the Lambert family from 1 and 2

    Great remake!

  3. Depends on what kind of horror you like, but even some of the bad entries in the old franchises you mentioned are more fun than the bad entries in that whole Conjuring universe tbh

  4. I think both Conjuring movies are solid but I think the only Insidious worth watching is the first one. None of the spinoff films have done anything for me. And Child's Play is maybe the most consistently fun franchise fwiw

Kinda love that no one remembers there is a third Conjuring now

I haven’t watched the 3rd or 4th Insidious movies, but I loved the first 2. Totally forgot there was a 3rd Conjuring movie lol

    It's better that way

  9. Okay maybe it's a good thing I haven't watched them

  10. Wow, completely forgot about that. Terrible movie

  11. I liked the second Insidious enough, but the first blows it out of the water for sure. The third was downright awful and until the last page of this thread I didn’t even know there was a fourth

I dig the first two Conjurings a lot, but yeah, three was horrid.

Conjuring 3 was mid, but mostly enjoyable!

I liked all The Conjurings. I only saw Insidious 1 and 2 and they're kind of forgetful, but I didn't hate them.

Anyone have any good supernatural/horror documentary recs?

Docs about movies or about actual supernatural incidents or faux documentary-style horror movies?

    Actual supernatural incidents!

Rodney Ascher stuff! Room 237 got pretty popular but The Nightmare legit spooked me. Also, Primal Screen - especially if you’ve seen the Anthont Hopkins ventriloquist movie. the title is escaping me currently but i know it’s a simple one word kinda thing

The original Ghost Adventures documentary and Demon House are fun, obviously they're super bros so if you can't stand them then probably stay clear (the original is before they were really obnoxious).

Hunt for the Skinwalker is pretty good, it's a fascinating story that was recently kind of bastardized for a Discovery Channel type show, but if you want a great in-depth overview I always recommend the Last Podcast on the Left or Astonishing Legends series.

I've heard good things about Cropsey and The Mothman Legacy (the real story is much crazier than The Mothman Prophecy let on).

Also if you like cryptids, the Small Town Monsters series is pretty good.

  24. I know festival hype should be taken with the biggest grain of salt, but I saw a lot of praise for the new A24 horror movie Talk To Me after its Sundance premiere and now after SXSW. Really curious about this one. Would be nice to get a trailer soon or in time to show in front of Evil Dead. It's supposed to release in July.

NOES is at least worth watching cause the first is great and the second is delightfully gay. There are other good entries in the franchise like dream warriors but yeah I don't blame you for skipping those franchises cause there's so many with varying degrees of quality, but they're usually fun af
