It's not horror, but why am I just finding out that Joe Dante did a made for TV movie in '94 starring Paul Rudd, Julie Bowen and Jenny Lewis?

Dunno why I’ve gone all these years without watching Mayhem, but it was great.

A big win for workers rights.

  6. He had a slipped disc apparently and needed surgery on his back to take out part of his spine to relieve the pressure. Crazy. He can’t use his back legs yet but he’s getting a little better every day I think.

Ugh poor guy! I appreciate you for making sure he got the treatment he needed—in my line of work, it’s insane how that’s not always a given

  8. If I wasn’t married and didn’t have pet insurance I’m not sure what we would have been able to do, honestly. Doesn’t help that I also have an impending surgery coming up. Who even has money anymore?! Haha

Near Dark was so great (as expected based on everything I’ve seen and read). So many awesome pyrotechnics, my goodness. That bar scene was truly something though

  21. Still only halfway through, got distracted hah...

but I see how this series can continue indefinitely. Has there been any announcement as to how many they have planned, or an end point?

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

another one just got announced recently, I think they'll probably keep making them as long as the audience is there

Yeah, with Chloe Okuno! Very excited, loved Watcher. After that, though? No ending planned? I guess that's reassuring?

edit: 1994 was really good! and really gay! one gripe: Kate's death felt a little too brutal

I finally watched VHS: Viral last night (it's the only one in the series that I hadn't seen) and despite hearing bad things about it beforehand, I actually really enjoyed it. Ignoring the "Dante the Great" segment which was pretty awful I thought the rest of the movie was solid. Worthwhile entry in the franchise imo

Bonestorm still rules and even though the idea is better than the execution the Parallel Monsters segment is still cool. absolutely despise Dante and the wraparound narrative though
