OG Scream is the greatest film ever, 3 is bad, all the rest are pretty close in quality really. consistent franchise

 

Scary Movie 3

 

Watched Sick over the weekend, like others, thought it was good as a slasher, just lost me with all the COVID stuff. I think I might have been more onboard if it was released this time last year.

 

the best Scary Movie, real ones know

 

Scream ranking is 1>2>5>4>3

 

I struggle with placing 3 and 4. Scream 3 is, objectively, the worst film in the series, but goddamn 4 is so ugly to look at.

 

4 is the most unlikable but it gets better after the first act

 

Scream 4 has the best last act since the OG I think. not the hospital bit so much but everything at Rory Culkin's house is so good

5 and 2 are kinda tied in the middle for me. The Billy scenes are too silly and it gets a little too meta at times in 5. The ''musical'' scene always makes me cringe and the ending kinda falls flat for me in 2. Parker Poser is iconic in 3. I still have a blast with all of them

 

I agree. Wish it ended at his house.

 

I gotta rewatch all them before March. I don't think they're streaming anywhere, correct?

 

The first 3 don't appear to be on any streaming services. 4 is on Netflix and 5 is on Paramount +

 

iirc it was meant to and a theoretical next movie was gonna follow Jill but some dumb behind the scenes stuff forced them to add on the hospital ending instead. will always be bummed we didn't get to see that planned sequel

 

Would have been interesting to see if they could pull that off

This surprises me: being consistently ranked at the bottom is one thing, but considered bad? 3 might've had the stupidest villain reveal of the first three, sure, but I don't think it was bad overall, I still enjoyed it a lot

Yeah there's still a lot to like about 3. Parker Posey, Emily Mortimer, the Carrie Fisher and Jay and Silent Bob cameos. Fun times

 

This might contradict a previous ranking I did in their thread, but I am far too lazy to track it down.

RE: SM 3 - Anthony Anderson cocking the shovel like a shotgun is maybe one of the hardest laughs I've ever experienced in a theater.

 

The shovel cocking, the hat getting bigger, throwing the can of paint out the window. The Twins song. Leslie Neilson. All so good. That movie rocks

 

The hat bit is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life.

 

YEah I don't know why but it always kills me. And I like to imagine that pitch meeting..."Okay so like, what if while she's talking to Charlie here, the brim of her hat just gets progressively bigger?" lol

I don't think I ever watched Scary Movie 4 or 5. I have a vague memory of thinking they looked really dumb, and not fun dumb like the first 3 haha

I think I convinced my mom to take me to see Scary Movie when it came out and yes that scene was awkward haha. But all of the first 3 have some classic scenes. 2 I think gets underrated and forgotten a lot even though "strong hand" is well known.
