Just watched Hell House LLC for the first time. Really enjoyed it. I’ve always loved going to haunted houses so this was a lot of fun. I hope to experience another real haunted house in the not too distant future.

EDIT: apparently there’s a director’s cut? Motherfuck I should have watched that one. Will watch in October.

  4. Genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed Antebellum. Maybe I went in with low expectations, and the pacing wasn't perfect, but I thought they executed a unique premise and reveal really, really well. Disturbing and dark with a truly affecting and satisfying ending. Feel like it's the kind of film that could be re-evaluated in the future.

I couldn't believe how much I liked hell house LLC lol seemed like it was going to suck, even 30 minutes into movie. But the whole found footage thing actually adds to the creepy atmosphere and tension well imo. Flaws and all still does what it's trying to do pretty good. I've been warned to just skip the sequels tho - this true???

Second Hell House LLC was okay, but third is not worth your time.

Watched Valentine for the first time last night. I was really impressed by the movie and can understand why it has a growing cult following. The kills were inventive with the premise having a traditional slasher story, but with some nice twists and turns. Denise Richards had some great lines in the movie.

I stand by Haunt being my fave "Haunted House" film in recent years. Thought The House October Built was okay, but not enough to watch the second.

I really enjoyed The House October Built, then got 10 minutes in to the sequel and turned it off. Good call

Haunt was terrifying. One of my favorite films of the last few years.

The cast is what sold me on it!

I remember watching Valentine with a large group of friends when I was a lot younger and it being a lot of fun. Was hoping it's still fun, albeit aged fun. Lots of cool memories watching movies as a younger person with people from school just for the shock value - I Know What You Did Last Summer also comes to mind.

It's very good! It has also caused me to research and learn more about the La Llorona folklore which is fascinating and also terrifying. Kinda makes me wanna watch the conjuring universe one now although I am sure I will be let down.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

Saint Maud was pretty good. last 15 minutes had me rolling my eyes a lot, but everything up till then was pretty well done. definitely potential for that director in the future

I picked Jack's Back randomly on Prime last night. Despite having no prior knowledge of the film, I was impressed. A perfectly campy 80s thriller with an interesting story. There were good twists and turns, decent characters, and the shot stylishly. This made me appreciate James Spader.

  21. I had no exposure to James Spaeder outside of Robert California until I saw Crash and it definitely made me appreciate him as an actor

My mom had a love affair with The Blacklist so I first saw him there occasionally but my first real true experience was Robert California as well (except for his one Seinfeld episode) and then I could not take Ultron seriously in the slightest.

Suspiria (1977) was a trip and a half. Plan to watch the 2018 version this weekend for a comparison.
