  1. I bought the lone copy of the Silent Night Deadly Night collection from Walmart on a whim and both I and the employee forgot to take off the anti-theft case. Gonna have to jailbreak this puppy

  2. Surprise! I watched this so you don't have to. It was vile, I don't care who directed it. Don't watch this shit!

Great list! I’ll do mine when my brain is less scattered.

Forcing myself to get through The Changeling… it gets a lot of love but I’m pretty bored with it so far.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

Rebecca Hall's monologue to the intern in Resurrection is probably my favourite this year. the digestion scene in Nope is up there too

  11. Did a Last Broadcast // The Collingwood Story double-feature on Shudder tonight and I honestly can't recommend it more lol. Two cheesy, yet innovative horror flicks set in Jersey that made a path for some many found footage/computer screen horror films. Flawed, but so fun.

Last Broadcast is fun, never heard of the other one sounds like I need to check it out.

  13. It's basically proto-Host. Again, corny, but in the best way. Very easy watch.

What’s really fun about being a horror fan is how forgiving we are to the genre because we love it. There’s really only ever like 1-3 actually great/perfected films a year in it, and then the rest are just like, what you like lol.

  15. I watch more horror movies a year than any other genre. I'll take a mediocre horror over any other mediocre movie.

Agreed. Only forgiving to horror for mediocre and only return to mediocre horror.

With the exception of some Ben Stiller movies. I know they’re bad. I still find some hilarious like Along Came Polly if not solely for PSH.

  17. I probably get more out of a mediocre superhero movie than most people on here and even I would prefer a mediocre horror movie over that, even in mediocrity horror can be fascinating or surprising on some level

Finally got around to The Hand That Rocks the Cradle! I found it to be 20-some minutes too long, but the climax was worth the wait. I gotta go check out the Gourley and Rust episode they covers it now.

Has this world stopped asking what it's thinking?

My fiancée went to bed early, so I ended my 2022 with a bang and threw on Terrifier 2. Absolutely loved it for all of its glut. David Howard Thornton and Lauren LaVera are so good in it, with Art The Clown being genuinely terrifying at times. The SFX would make Savini and Baker proud.

Started a movie club with some friends in 2023 and for my pick this week I’m showing them all Fulci’s Zombie. We are also trying to pair it with snacks and drinks that are on theme for the movie chosen. Anyone have any good ideas/done anything like this? So far, we’ve got a tropical vodka “zombie apocalypse” drink planned and maybe a meatloaf hand but we’re struggling haha
