Finally threw on that Adult Swim Yule Log… real real fun ride. Had to figure out where this thing came from so halfway through I googled it and once I learned this is the Too Many Cooks guy it made more sense

 

Incantation was a ride. a little overlong but intense and surprisingly moving. maybe miss it if you have trypophobia but other than that I'd def recommend it to the thread. I don't know if there's enough overlap for anyone else to care, but there's a reveal that's the exact same as a Doctor Who episode which made me smile (no hate Incantation did it better)

also watched Come Play which was... fine? I swear a whole lot of these cheap-looking horrors with thinly veiled commentaries have been popping up since Lights Out lol. that being said Gillian Jacobs elevated the whole thing like she usually does

 

Started Violent Night last night but fell asleep like 30 minutes into it. Goddamn I swear I don't have any time anymore to watch new shit. Argh.

 

Going to try to watch Black Christmas with Joe Bob tonight if I can make the time. WGAR holiday season starts tomorrow!

 

Did they ever do an episode where they said what the movies are for the holiday season?

 

Don't think so, but I know they've mentioned Black Christmas this Friday, as well as New Year's Evil, My Bloody Valentine, Leprechaun, and April Fool's Day for the upcoming season.

 

I think I'm going to watch Yule Log tonight or tomorrow. Maybe Violent Night sometime this weekend too, but only because Judy Gemstone.

Still been thinking a lot about Skinamarink. I really want to watch it again asap.

 

Watched Krampus for only the second time yesterday and I liked it a lot more than the first time. Any love for Rare Exports in here? Really need to watch that one again.

 

Have not seen Rare Exports yet, but it's on my list for this week! As are the Silent Night, Deadly Night sequels if I can get to them. Still need to watch Joe Bob form last week.

 

Scare Package 2 was a fun time. Didn't enjoy it as much as the first.

 

Oh shittttt forgot that was out today! Maybe I can sneak in a double feature tonight now that's I'm working from home tomorrow...

 

Rare Exports rules. Def a hidden gem.

 

Sissy overall was alright, but the gore was something special.

 

From elevated horror to B-movies, 2022 was a strong year for the genre

 

"elevated horror" is such a dumb description haha

 

The Final Girls segment in Scare Package 2 is so good lol

 

Also, Black Christmas '74 is borderline perfect. Margot kidder's death is GOATed. I also don't think the movie gets enough credit for how funny it is
