I love how they just threw that stuff in at the end on the fly. Truly remarkable that someone even made the conscious decision to continue that story with Curse

Hellraiser was good! Some of it I really liked and some of it seemed like trying to expand on the mythos too much (maybe? i have only seen the original first 3) but it was still all very enjoyable and the design, gore, and soundtrack were great.

  5. idk, I guess just because a horror movie is from A24 doesn't automatically guarantee that I'll like it; I didn't like Men, either.

Really enjoyed Ringu and respect the original but I still think I like what Verbinksi did with the American remake more. Finding myself wanting more Japanese horror now though after this and One Missed Call. Might do Ju-On next.

Ohhhh man, I had to stop it with 20 minutes left and won’t be able to finish it until tomorrow morning, but Deadstream is SO much fun. It’s way goofier than I expected, which I appreciate because with a name like Deadstream it would have been weird otherwise. At first I was a little put off by how bad the demons looked and how most of the jump scares were presented but once I came to terms with the Raimi-level wackiness, I loved every second and I’m excited for the final act tomorrow.

Probably gonna watch Hellraiser tonight unless I get sucked into hours worth of Dead by Daylight.

    god I love october

  8. I think The Ring Two could've been much better if he'd returned for the sequel. (I had no idea The Ring was directed by the same person who did the Pirates movies haha)

Oddly enough, Hideo Nakata (director of Ringu and Ringu 2) directed the American version of Ring 2. I saw Ring 2 and Rings but don’t remember a thing from either one tbh. I plan to do the American versions after I run through the Japanese versions.

So far, the acting in Hellraiser is pretty iffy aside from the lead, and I’m not sure about the story yet, but I’m enjoying it way more than I expected and it can only be a good sign that I am getting really giddy to see more of the cenobites.

    Also, Marcia Roy!

Just watched this. Really unique and interesting. A film I won't forget any time soon. The less you know going in, the better. Super low budget, but doesn't look or feel like it at all.

Just finished. That last scene, haha. Gruesome.

I loved watching it but it was pretty bad, honestly. The characters were weak and the acting even worse, although Odessa killed it for the most part. I wish the story had been better (it’s bad and gets worse), and I would’ve been able to forgive that if it didn’t also take itself so seriously. It reminded me of a lot of that early 2000s brand of horror like 13 Ghosts and The House on Haunted Hill, but without anything super offensive, haha.

In spite of all that, I really loved the cenobites and the special effects, and overall I had a really good time. It was better than I expected and I would kill for a NoES reboot half as good as this.

Anthony Kiedis’s dad is in this lol. This movie is nuts. A mix of David Lynch/David Zucker/I even get some David Wain. Truly unique tone

    edit:
And holy shit it just hit me with a lofi
SOV flashback that was genuinely disturbing. This movie rules

Just watched Terrifier for the first time ever. That was fun y’all. That one scene with the friend in the beginning was fucking hard to watch and certainly could have done without. Haven’t seen a scene quite like that since Bone Tomahawk.

I really liked Jamie Clayton, Odessa A'Zion, and Goran Visnjic in the new Hellraiser, and the Cenobite designs were insane. I don't know if I'd call it good, and I haven't seen the previous ones to compare. I found it very gross and unsettling, I can't say I "enjoyed" it, but I was certainly fascinated throughout. The reason I even wanted to watch this in the first place was for Jamie, and for that I am satisfied, but idk, as a whole it left me wanting more.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

H20 was pretty good! not surprised to see Kevin Williamson wrote it lol, his dialogue markers were everywhere. lotta issues still but probably JLC's best performance in the franchise

Resurrection was: TRICK OR TREAT MOTHERFUCKER
