I'd like to see them stick with those characters too but I wouldn't mind a new story either.

Nice call on the posters. I wish I paid more attention to that haha[/spoilers]

  2. Did a Shudder double feature tonight of Glorious and The Innocents.

Glorious had a fun concept, but it honestly didn't do much for me.

The Innocents was so good, but damn was it a distressing watch. Highly recommended. Just be ready to chase it down with something light-hearted afterwards ha.

Was browsing through channels and saw this movie on Showtime called Slice with Chance the Rapper and Zazie Beetz was on. It's from 2018 and is a horror comedy I guess. Never heard of it before. Has anyone seen it? lol

I think Flanagan's shows are better than his films. Hill House and Midnight Mass are his best work imo.

it sucked tbh. Wanted to like it, but it didn't do anything for me.

Orphan First Kill is fucking jarring. They very obviously use body doubles A LOT. There is this weird filter that I'm assuming they used to make it looks like a dreary Soviet bunker or something that is just fucking ugly and distracting.

I don't know why this movie exists and would not recommend it. Fell asleep cuz it was painfully boring and dumb.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

Hill House is absolutely Flanagan's best

hard disagree. I feel the twist made the whole movie worth it. Agree about the distracting filter near the beginning though.

I fell in love with Doctor Sleep on my second watch, first view thought it was only ok. But yeah, Hill House is a masterpiece.

  11. Definitely watch the Director's Cut of Doctor Sleep if you're able. idk where it's available, maybe it's only on the bluray? I was lucky enough to catch it in theaters and it's incredible.

I think Hill House is the better of the two Haunting shows but I like Bly Manor a tiny bit more. Need to rewatch Midnight Mass this Halloween season, I enjoyed several aspects of it but I'm not sure how I feel about it as a whole.

I liked Hill House, I didn’t love it. Thought the pacing was extremely slow and it needed more scares, but otherwise it was a cool show

  14. Got one episode into Hill House but it takes a lot to pull me into supernatural horror these days

Yeah it was a lot of fun, I liked it quite a bit. Gourley and Rust are shitting on it haha.

I'd say Seed is the low point so far, even though I didn't even dislike that one. I'm surprised how strong the franchise is as a whole.

Like them, I am confused about where this lands in the continuity of the others, but I guess it doesn't really matter.

  19. Honestly one of, if not the, most consistently fun horror franchise lol there are low points but hardly any straight-up stinkers. Bummed to hear they're shitting on it, need to listen tonight

As someone who doesn’t care about the original Orphan film, First Kill is okay. I’d recommend it just for Julia Styles.

Lol omg I tried to watch this with my daughter. It’s so bad and what’s worse is that it didn’t even make me laugh. I was just dumbfounded.
