My Heart Can't Beat Unless You Tell It To was really great.

Definitely one of the best horror films of 2021.

Watched The Old Ways on Netflix last night. Good possession flick. Very much recommend it.

  3. Goodnight Mommy was very solid, just wish the twist wasn't so predictable, The Lodge was a step up imo. Need to struggle finish a few that I started yesterday, A Christmas Horror Story and Evil Ed. Neither of them were outright bad, I think I was just anxious and not in the right headspace for them.

Speaking of which, I didn't know Arrow had a streaming service and signed up for a free trial. Lots of cult stuff, but also lots of overlap with Shudder. Anyone else signed up/have recommendations?

  4. Dude Bro Party Massacre 3 was sporadically very funny, even if it's at least 20 minutes too long. It also feels very of its time (2010s internet sketch humor), but that's a given considering it was made by 5 Second Films. Definitely worth the watch for genre fans and parody fans.

The way they wrote that movie is so bizarre and awesome

Censor was certainly interesting. Very unusual and engaging film, but something didn’t fully come together for me. Worth it for being a love letter to horror and the psychological nature of it.

I just don’t get the high praise it seems to be getting. I was ready for it to be over before it was even halfway through. It was a letdown after all the good things I heard.

  9. Yeah, Rebecca Hall is awesome and I thought the film was mostly well-executed, but the experience was just not enjoyable for me and I thought the Nothing stuff wound up being really corny at the end.

Blood Games was very good. Doing Predators tonight, a movie I always seem to enjoy but also never remember.

Dang I was pleasantly surprised by The Night House but I do understand the criticisms for sure and I think my expectations were low for it going in so I'm sure that helped. On the flip side, I think I need to watch Censor again because while I didn't dislike it by any means, I was underwhelmed. Absolutely loved the premise though, kinda reminded me of Berberian Sound Studio in that way.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I absolutely love Berberian Sound Studio. guess I'll check out Censor then!

it’s not the best part of the movie but censor contains some of the best fake horror movie titles of all time

Watched Initiation last night. Really enjoyed it until the reveal. I had a story written in my head about what happened that was wayyyy better lol.

So basically Victor has control of the rights for Crystal Lake, child Jason, and Pamela while Sean has control of the rights for adult Jason. Also, I had no idea the guy who played Shelly in 3-D was a lawyer nowadays.

This is not good. I doubt Victor and Sean will cooperate with each other anytime soon. Looks like we may not get another Friday the 13th movie or game for probably another decade. I wish Blumhouse could somehow get the rights from those two.

Anyone got a EOTY movie list? I feel like a lot of folks will mention Malignant, but I want some others to put on my list. Currently, I still need to see My Heart Can't Beat Until You Tell It To, Titane, and Psycho Goreman to name a few
