Everyone should watch The Oath for Thanksgiving. Not really horror, but it’s pretty great.

 

I just watched The Forever Purge. It was alright, not great by any means, but these movies are pretty mindless fun for me. I’d shamelessly watch like 6 more

That being said, why does the guy on the poster and in the promo materials play zero role in the movie lol

watched the first episode of Chucky...a little too much gen z cringe but there's potential

 

Jack Frost goes from being bad to strange to knowing exactly what it's doing within the first hour lol I love it. Some genuinely funny moments alongside some absolutely insane one-liners.

 

Really liked The Forever Purge. Those movies just deliver for me

Agreed. The movie isn't exactly an exercise in good taste, but that scene is too much.

 

Heads up, Shout Factory is having a boxset sale and that Friday the 13th Complete Collection is marked down to $95! It's a great set.

 

Wait, did Don’t Breathe 2 go right to streaming / video? About to rent Forever Purge and DB2 shows up as another available rental, I didn’t even know they were filming it let alone it was done and out there.

Damn I hated DB2. Down there with False Positive for worst movie of the year

 

I didn't hate either (False Positive is my kind of bonkers lol). But you do have to do some mental gymnastics to get over the premise of DB2. It worked for me more when I viewed the little girl as the protagonist as opposed to the old man. I would say the worst movies of the year (horror or otherwise) were Old and The Conjuring.

 

While we're here, I'd say my favorite horror flicks of the year would be Censor, Malignant, VHS94, the Fear Street trilogy, Titane, and Willy's Wonderland

 

Ok but Old is great hahaha

Unpopular opinion I guess but I thought The Conjuring 3 was fine -- par for the course for the series

 

My picks for best of the year include The Night House, The Old Ways, VHS 94, Kandisha, and Oxygen

Honorable mentions to Old and Malignant

 

Oh shit forgot about Old! Will have to rent it this weekend.

 

I fucking hated Old with every fiber of my being.

 

All I want in life is a proper Grindhouse sequel. Machete scratches the itch, but...I want another double feature. Planet Terror rules so hard.

 

Tried watching Black Friday but ALL of the humor falls flat on its face. Didn't help that Sawa is acting like he is in a Friedberg/Seltzer movie the entire time.
