Here's what I've got lined up for the rest of the month. Or what I'd like to fit in if I had the time anyway

    King Kong (1976)
    Blade
    Opera
    Prince of Darkness
    The Haunting
    Anaconda
    Birdemic 2
    The Skull
    The Scooby Doo Project
    Body Bags

    other stuff
    They Live
    Night Teeth
    Trick r Treat
    Hocus Pocus
    Frankenweenie
    Halloween III
    Hubie Halloween
    Nightbooks
    Young Frankenstein
    Muppet Haunted Mansion
    Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales
    some Treehouse of Horrors
    some Halloween Heists
    some Bobs Burgers

  2. The Simpsons Shining segment in Treehouse of Horror V is the single greatest horror parody of all-time, pretty sure I could recite it line for line at this point

"Tell you what - we come back and everyone's dead, I owe you a Coke"

"That's funny, the blood usually gets off at the second floor"

"C'mon, waste your family and I'll give you a beer"

    "Urge to kill...fading...fading...RISING...fading...gone."

I watched the first five or six TOHs over the weekend and I agree that's easily the best one

  4. The Long Halloween part two is a bit darker, but still not quite horror-y. Always love a good creepy Scarecrow dream sequence, though. I see now why this is considered one of the definitive Batman stories. It's cool that Naya had the chance to be part of this adaptation.

  5. Ready or Not arrived so of course I had to pop it in. So now I've seen it in theaters, on streaming, and on DVD. Love this movie. Love Samara Weaving. Special features were a treat.

It’s hard to imagine the new Scream movie not being awesome.

Ready or Not was filmed around the corner from me. Parkwood (exterior shots and some of the interior) and Casa Loma (interior shots) are both super cool locations. Wish I knew it was being filmed as it was happening, would have tried to snoop around.

Couple weeks late but VHS 94 ruled, probably my favorite of the series!

  9. I regret to report that The Night House was not for me. Very well-made, looked great, Rebecca Hall is amazing, creepy and effective atmosphere, but man...I just did not enjoy the experience of watching it. Felt like an exercise in this new genre of feel-bad horror. Just a massive bummer to sit through.

Titane, on the other hand...hoo boy. Not what I expected, but very, very good. A wild ride. Left me with a certain Comedy Bang Bang song stuck in my head.

The Night House didn't leave me with that feeling, the way something like Relic did.

Titane I still don't know what I think. Probably the grossest movie I'll see this year lol

Has this world stopped asking what it's thinking?

Girlfriend and I went to try out a dive bar in our neighborhood and they just happen to be marathoning all the Screams!

Underwater was actually pretty cool. Carries tension throughout and has some awesome visuals. Improved significantly after TJ Miller's annoying comedic relief character died. Love Kristen Stewart in everything I see her in, this was no exception. Also just looked on IMDb to find that Jessica Henwick was Colleen in The Defenders (and Iron Fist, which I didn't bother watching) and will be in Knives Out 2 and Matrix 4 which is super cool, looking forward to seeing her in those. Probably the film's only weakness, a rather major one, is that you don't get to know any of the characters very well so it was hard, for me, to get emotionally attached to them.

  15. I liked but didn't love Hell Fest when it first came to DVD, but I watched it again last night and really, really enjoyed it! It's not going to win any points for originality, but it honestly felt refreshing to go back to an old-school-style slasher that isn't meta or trying to one-up the genre. The characters felt realistic and not annoying, but what really sold me was the haunt stuff and just the setting itself. Super effective and fun to look at. Plus, you can't go wrong with a movie under 90 minutes.

I watched There's Someone Inside Your House last night. Most of the talk about it I've seen had been pretty negative but I thought it was a decent throwback teen slasher, if you're into that

  17. I liked it too. Although, the title was kind of an odd choice, in my opinion.

Very into. It’s definitely targeted towards a younger demo. I love the resurgence of teen horror.

  23. Watched The Medium last night. It takes its time building up, but I was sufficiently spooked. Highly recommended to anyone that has Shudder. The guy that wrote and directed The Wailing was a writer on this, to give another selling point.

I checked out The Medium as well. Might be the first Thai film I've seen? Pretty good possession movie

  25. Fans of the oddball, low-budget, SOV Vinegar Syndrome type flicks gotta watch Blood Beat on Shudder. Incomprehensible and unforgettable
