Bring Her Back is wildly fucked up

 

Bring Her Back ruled, what a movie. Can’t wait for something other than TTM2 from there guys.

 

it's hard to quantify how much gore i can handle. i'm fine with The Monkey and Renfield. bits of Evil Dead 2013, Evil Dead Rise, and Hellraiser 2022 made me uncomfortable. i don't even wanna touch In a Violent Nature and the Terrifier series. but yeah, I don't think I'll have a problem with Final Destination

anyway, so i just watched the first one and... i agree that it is dated. for a series that's known for its creative and complicated death scenes, the plane sequence and a couple of the kills were a little underwhelming tbh. as a whole tho it's a pretty solid first entry for the franchise, setting up the rules and such

Haven’t seen talk to me and I’ll probably pass on bring her back. Not my thing!

 

Wasn’t the biggest fan of it, but the knife scene was a rare moment where I closed my eyes during a movie. Just can’t do teeth horror..

 

I didn’t care for Talk To Me but I liked Bring Her Back. These guys are really good at crafting gnarly sequences. They just haven’t quite cracked a great script yet.

 

the second one is a lot more entertaining than the first. really leaning into what the franchise is known for. the kills are more satisfying without going tooooo far. the rules don't really make sense tho haha

 

I watched The Ugly Stepsister tonight. I liked it! It was icky.

that rocked lmao. the last act felt a little bit rushed maybe but the payoff from the coin/train was absolutely inspired. Erik was the best comic relief I've seen in a horror in years

Tony Todd scene really got me too, not used to getting so emotional from Final Destination. rip king

 

Very cool that people got to see Bring Her Back, will probably rewatch Talk to Me this weekend (along with Re-Animator since I missed that anniversary showing)

 

and then the paramedics slipped on all the freaking puke in the aisles because it was just that twisted
