Couple Hold Steady adjacent things some of y'all might be interested in:

Tad Kubler put out a solo EP on bandcamp. Most songs sound like they'd right be right at home on mid 90's alt rock radio.

Also, Franz Nicolay spoke before congress concerning the recent ruling against Livemaster. Gave a great statement and answered some q's later on about how their monopoly over the industry as a whole affects mid-tier bands/venues/artists. He also has a couple of really, really interesting books out around life and travels as a small to mid tier touring artist and as a side man in general. Def work checking out if you give a shit about that kind of thing.

any new album news? Seems like they have 10+ new ones they have played recently so just wondering.

 

Apparently as of January/Feb this year, they had yet to actually go into the studio to record anything. But they’ve been playing a full albums worth of new stuff so I have to imagine it’d be coming late this year/early next year
