It was fucking great. They played two new songs (Lanyards and The Feelers) and both were excellent. I feel like both would have fit nicely on the second half of Stay Positive.

No prob- they sounded great and you can tell they were really happy to be playing a show in a venue again. Worth noting that if you order tonight or tomorrow's show, you can stream them as much as you want after they air until Monday night.

 

Google Doc link to the set lists from the Massive Nights shows. So glad they were able to put these on. Seeing their energy along with the clips of people rocking out all over the world on Zoom made me way more emotional than I expected it to. Fuck I can't wait to go to shows again.

Man it just feels really nice to have buzz around a new Hold Steady record.

 

2/2 with the singles on this so far, both classics. I loved that Thrashing felt like this loose, fun record where the band was kinda rediscovering themselves. Excited for what feels like is going to be a return to more Classic THS stuff here, pick up where Stay Positive left off.
