SOOO pumped for this. I think Hill House was my favorite thing I watched in 2018. Trying to keep my expectations in check so I don't let myself down.
Just hoping they keep the emphasis on family/personal drama here, and don’t go all out on scares. That was what made Hill House so compelling to me.
Finally got around to watching this and holy shit why did I wait so long haha. Fantastic storytelling an suspenseful as hell. Mike Flanagan continues to impress. so is The Haunting of Bly Manor only going to be 3 episodes?
IMDB is just currently showing 3 episodes, so I wasn’t sure if it was right or they just haven’t added more.
Started this today and ended after episode 5. What an absolute wallop of an episode and I got teary eyed at the dance sequence before the final... act. Way to take you high then drop you down low. no pun intended.
watching this again knowing what happens to Nell is so goddamn hard, even harder than the first time around. the first 6 episodes are just an incredible run of TV though, they fit together like a symphony
rewatching as well, I got to the bent neck lady episode last night and I agree wholeheartedly. Nellie is such a tragic character, I love her so much.
Nell is by far my favourite character (although shoutout to Luke who is consistently fantastic too) and I think one of the strongest characters in recent horror overall when young Nell's "why couldn't you see me?" dialogue is playing over that shot of her ghost standing in front of the coffin in Two Storms... jesus that broke me
it's an incredible piece of work the only thing that kinda bothers me is that Theo wasn't there to pick up the coffin with the rest of the family, I don't know if that bothers anyone else
Im really looking forward to this! EDIT: Obviously mean Bly Manor but I really want a rewatch of Hill House too
forgot exactly how good the Olivia episode is in its own way it's as haunting as the Bent Neck Lady reveal, imo. and Carla Gugino is a goddamn queen
Watched Two Storms last night. I was in tears at that ending "I was right here! Nobody could see me."
