Damn that sucks. I braced myself for not getting them when I saw on fb there 40 people in line by 8:00 in the morning.
I've seen it used several times here and i'm just wondering if i'm completely missing the boat on "metallic" hardcore. Why? Is their also metallica hardcore? Was metalcore not good enough for us? Maybe a slash between Metal/Hardcore? It also just makes me think of the sound of metal slamming together.
I’ve always assumed that “metallic hardcore” was used for band like Integrity or Ringworm, and “metalcore” was for bands that sounds like Ferret/Trustkill stuff
I’ve always thought metalcore was just a shortened version of metallic hardcore, but maybe I’m an idiot
The way I've always thought about it is that metallic hardcore is music that uses hardcore song structures with metallic or heavy style riffing ala bands like Ringworm, Hatebreed, and Disembodied. I've always considered metalcore to lean more into the metal sphere with bands like Atreyu (WHO INVENTED METALCORE AFTER ALL), Bleeding Through, Killswitch Engage, and Unearth falling under that umbrella. Sometimes the lines get a bit cloudy when you have a band that can probably fit under both umbrellas like Undying, Prayer for Cleansing, or Drawing Last Breath, but generally, they are two distinct sounds.
What came first? Metal with hardcore influences or hardcore with metal influences?! You will drive yourself mad with this debate!
I think Mizery has been my favorite Mosh Madness discovery. This record rules. Very into bands like them and Higher Power
Turnstile is going on tour with $uicideBoy$, Trash Talk, Denzel Curry, City Morgue and others. Interesting bill.
