Lotsa Defeater talk going on, glad they're still a band, though I didn't much listen to anything that came out after Empty Days & Sleepless Nights. I live in a west Texas town where not much happens but I went to school in New Englad from '10 to '14 and got to see them plenty including the ED&SN record release show, the Verse reunion, and The Carrier's last show. Perfect fucking timing. My life is boring now. Found this the other day and it isn't Defeater but sounds similar, or is at least FFO.
it's an early contender for hardcore album of the year for me. this kind of metallic hardcore/crossover kind of stuff has been scratching the right itches recently...that said, there's a long 11 months ahead where it can be knocked off.
Right there with ya. This style is right up my alley, plus they're "kinda local" to me which is cool. Gonna be seeing them twice in the next couple months (first with Incendiary, Homewrecker, Creeping Death, Big Bite and Razorbumps - then with Creeping Death, Vatican and Alias)
Judiciary record is nice. Thanks for the rec. Hearing the clip of Charlie Chaplin’s The Great Dictator speech made me realize I’ve heard that in three different core songs now.
Saw Vein open for Thursday last night (4th time in like 9 months, tonight will be 5, and then #6 in April with KSE and PWD) These dudes just keep sounding better and better every time. I guess that's what happens when you keep playing shows non-stop.
Missed that! I knew they briefly came back in 2016 but I wasn't sure they were still together. Hopefully they plan to release some new stuff
In stuff I missed from last year, here's some 80s hardcore inspired/Rev Summer kinda stuff from Sunstroke from Philly. This is killer.
What’s everyone’s top 10 favorite hardcore bands? Not best ever or ranked, just 10 favorites of all time?
