What's everybody's favorites of the year? I'm off and want to check some stuff out today, think I've only heard Vein, Gouge Away, Sectioned and Candy
Here's my top 5, in no particular order except for the first one: True Love - The Pact (top 1), American Nightmare - S/T, Candy - Good To Life, Blind Justice - No Matter the Cost, Trail of Lies - W.A.R. Honorable mentions: the new Regulate LP, Mil-Spec's latest 7", Ecostrike - Voice of Strength 7". I dig the Gouge Away record but I need to give it a few more listens. I can't stand Vein at all, that band feels too gimmicky for me, I don't know how to say it... I wish I could understand the hype.
Harms Way Vein Turnstile Gouge Away Candy Jesus Piece Mindforce LP is gonna be up there. Hoping for LPs from King Nine, Initiate, and Judiciary
Vein Turnstile Candy HIRS Cult Leader (not out yet but based on what I’ve heard it’ll be up there) I respect and enjoy bands like Harms Way and Jesus Piece but that style of hardcore does nothing for me.
Jesus Piece Vein True Love Turnstile Not like these haven't been mentioned. Haven't listened to or Gouge Away enough. Primal Rite is pretty sick if you're into more thrash metal kinda stuff.
Candy Red Death (technically 2017, but LP pre-orders weren't until this year so fuck it) Tragedy Backslider Turnstile Vein
Slipknot, Fall Out Boy, Hatebreed, Etc. Members Step Up To Help Harm's Way Following Trailer Theft | Theprp.com Dope.
Forgot about the Line of Sight EP, I know some others here were into it. I know there's a load of others I'm forgetting
Love Candy, Jesus Piece, etc, but here's some great stuff I haven't seen mentioned. Mouthbreather - Dollmeat Point of Contact - Undefeated Creeping Death - Specter of War Vile Mentality - Demo For Pete's Sake - North Atlantic That Dead Heat promo shreds too, best Leeway worship I've heard in a minute. When's that Mindforce supposed to drop?
Agreed, but to be fair, the bill is pretty staked. Year of the Knife played right after and killed too. Backtrack, Harms Way and Terror still to come.
