Honestly, once Kourtney Kardashian started popularizing hardcore and metal shirts into “high fashion”, it became a shrug for me every time I see a celebrity wearing something.
Made this In/Humanity bootleg tape today. “Emo violence” band from South Carolina back in the early 90s.
Sounds like St Vitus in New York shut down for good. Posting here since it was mostly a hardcore/metal venue. Never been there but it sucks to see such an important venue shut down.
Heard it basically was one guy who went through the process of getting it shut down purely out of spite for getting kicked out of there several times for being a dickhead
yes….but they also were serving alcohol with an expired license. When people hate you, you can’t give them a reason.
Oh for sure they definitely fucked up overall so even though that dude was a definitely being a dick, it ultimately wasn’t his fault they didn’t do their work properly. Welp, it was fun while it lasted I guess. Won’t be listening to them for the foreseeable future.
Does anyone have the video of CMI saying that stuff? I need to shut some people down. They had red flags all over but people kept saying “nah they’re cool”.
Not defending him either but clearly the person posting that isn't familiar with post 9/11 vet culture, because that's pretty innocuous tbh.
Yup. Also not defending him but it's also like........Iraq and Afghanistan were COMBAT zones. Troops didn't go over there for a quick vacation in the desert.
While I can see that side of the issue, it just doesn’t look good for a band trying to “reclaim” skinhead culture from the racists and have one of the members wear a shirt like that.
I've been enjoying CMI, but this actually...concerns me, especially as someone who grew up as a military kid. But I also get vet culture (especially in a post-9/11 world) and there's such a difference in enlisted culture vs. officer culture. I don't condone this sort of behavior though and I think in today's day and age, it's pretty damn ghastly to still have those views.
I think everyone understands the us vs them aspect of war. But I think what really bothers people is bragging or enjoyment over taking a life. People have accused the band of saying some pretty fucking insensitive stuff too. They started to get some legit heat from the community and put out the “we are not” post but obviously there are incidents to the contrary.
