I don’t know about you all but I love spending my time standing around thousands of other sweaty people in the hot sun for hours on end.
When I can see Mindforce or Sunami play Richmond in a venue half the size, I'm not incentivized to dole out the cash to go to a fest like this...like I'm sure it'll be a good time but it's not for me at this point. Lol. The undercard here with bands like mspaint, Soul Blind, Scarab, and Balmora is great, but like Nate, the appeal of standing around with sweaty shit heads gets less and less appealing every year as I get older. I say that and I'll be at Maryland Deathfest next year moat likely so I probably just hate hardcore.
Vännäs Kasino (members from Refused, Cult of Luna, Rome is not a town, Masshysteri, INVSN and so on) are finally releasing their fantastic record on bandcamp. They have released a song a day since 1st of December.
Feel like the reunion was a perfect send off but fuck it that show was one of the best I’ve ever seen and more people should get to see them
They made a big thing of the 2019 gigs being the last shows ever, so I’d be very surprised. Where did this rumor come from?
Yeah, the mystique of reunions and breaking up is spoiled at this point. Yeah, they did it once: cool. Just say we are on hiatus going forward and we may do shows. Snapcase and Earth Crisis are good examples of how to do it. Now, on that same note: I would be tempted to sell an organ to see The Hope Conspiracy again
Well Deathwish more or less confirmed that HopeCon is active again so you’re probably getting your wish
Tbf: I remember around 2019 Pat said something on a podcast like “we might do this again in like ten years. Or maybe we don’t. But if you want to see us while we’re still kinda young or in our prime, nows the time” crazy to think it’s already been 5 years. as someone who couldn’t afford to go out to one of the coasts to catch them in 2019, I really hope this is real. It doesn’t cheapen them as a band to me at all.
Nobody ever said anything about it cheapening them as a band. The impact that band hand on people and scene doesn’t change. All I’m saying is the shock and awe of a reunion is not as exciting as it used to be because everyone is doing it. Maybe Have Heart should go the KISS route and create digital avatars of themselves so they will be around forever.
so people have been inquiring with them about playing fests the last year or two. Then Pat scrubbed his instagram and it’s now a have heart Instagram with a band bio. So at the very least they are going to have some activity soon.
The money some of these bands are being offered, the times we are living in, I’m not gonna hold it against anyone to get out there and make a Buck. Even what bands were being offered five years ago to play shows and now is way different.
Yeah, they just put out that EP a few weeks ago and said “this is just the beginning” so I expect we’ll see them next year.
