Yikes at the Cold As Life vocalist

Based on what Im seeing on r/hardcore he was being racist. He used the n word going on an illegible tirade about the Black Christmas show going on at the end of the year. Cold As Life was supposed to be playing that show. Idk much else since Im not too familiar with the band or the guy involved.

The dude dropped the r word on Hardlore (maybe more than once), lived a criminal lifestyle and served prison time. Not defending it by any means but the comment "typical Jeff G convo" seems accurate

Cold As Life guy dropping a racial slur might be the least surprising controversy this year.

 

It’s not surprising but it would be nice if there were actual repercussions for it

I get that the band were very important to people and Colin Young worships the ground Jeff walks on but yeah…

Considering all the bands who have POC in them.

I mean, who am I kidding? The HC community holds ZERO people accountable. No Pressure is out there at the top of festival bills.

 

agree that other bands should at least stand up and say they won't play if they're not dropped or something

This fucking rules. I randomly purchased this recently and finally got around to uploading it to my YouTube channel of obscure-ish 7” punk/hardcore records that I stumble across.

 

NSF Weekend is always a blast. And this year's venue is a HUUUUUUGE upgrade from last year. It's outside on a giant patio with lots of space and seating. They allow ins/outs for 21+. Lots of food/drink options nearby.

 

Hell yeah. This will be my first, but the lineup so far is good enough to make the trek to Denton for sure. Also 21+ with re-entry sounds like the way to go

 

You won't be disappointed. I'm sure the rest of the lineup will be super solid too and they'll probably have some other shows happening the day(s) before/after so you could make a weekend out of it.
