Tough guy NYHC hardcore has always been my least favorite kind of sound within the genre so it literally does nothing for me. I tried. I just can't get into it. It's well done for what it is and Andy makes it sound great, but there's so much better hardcore to me that has come out this year like Alienator and Drain.

I pretty much agree with @swboyd on the Pain of Truth record. On paper it seems cool but at the end of the day the features are very distracting. We both agree the Senfeld snippet is funny as hell though.

Magnitude record is probably my album of the year so far

 

I liked the last Magnitude record but that style of vocals (Envision is guilty of this too) is very grating to me. The new song they played live was cool.

 

The Envision record is so good.

Saw Soul Glo and Zulu tonight I feel like I don't listen to enough hardcore these days. Going to get back into the swing of things by taking some recs from this thread. Any good metalcore releases recently that should be on my radar?
