I'm liking Surrender Control. I don't think they have used gang vocals since Wake the Dead. It's nice to hear it again!
Turn It Around + Wake The Dead > anything Comeback Kid has released since (including the new one, which is perfectly fine but still a far cry from their earlier stuff).
Turn It Around does nothing for me. I think Wake The Dead is my third favorite album behind Symptoms & Cures and then Die Knowing.
If this does nothing for you, then I don't know what to tell you: Just kidding about that first part, but in all seriousness, every CBK album after Broadcasting has done nothing for me. They're still all perfectly decent albums, but Scott Wade made CBK for me. I know it's always been Andrew's band, but what he was doing with Figure Four is so much better than later era CBK. Again, just one man's opinion.
I have two friends that liked Scott on vocals more too. (They like the later stuff as well though.) Did you see Scott perform with them not too long ago?
Nope. Sadly. That tour happened while I was in grad school. Unless a tour happened to come to the central Illinois town I was in at the time, I probably couldn't make it to a show because of various academic and life commitments. :/
Oh ok. That would be cool though! I've seen them with both and they are both great. Broadcasting... went in a heavier direction after Andrew took over vocal duties but then they found a nice balance after that record.
I also prefer the Scott Wade stuff. Broadcasting and S&C weren't my thing and I haven't listened since. Wake the Dead, for me, has energy that those records kind of lack
Is anyone else getting a Four Year Strong vibe off the song Recover? It's not a bad thing and it totally makes sense considering they did a pretty big tour with them. There is bound to be some influence there.
