Friend back home snagged two tix for Bane, TSF, MLIW & co. Too hyped. Suicide File is a top 10 all time hardcore band for me and I’ve seen them only once at a TIHC fest. Way more hyped for them than Bane, but still cool they’re doing it.
I don’t think this is the song they played on their headliner but it was eerily similar. I think this is the next phase of Scowl.
i think this is where they are headed. Call me crazy but this song kind of reminds me of something like Veruca Salt.
Scowl is trying to ride that Turnstile wave. Respect. edit: The metal screeches at the end were quite out of place.
Meh The two bands don't sound anything alike Also, the "Turnstile effect" is pretty laughable. People are just looking to blame a band for other bands moving beyond one specific sound.
Agree to disagree here then man. I was more using it as a general trend for hype bands in hardcore to go to a more accessible sound while maintaining some of their core identity. It's not a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination but the comparisons are inevitable especially if the band is going to start getting more mainstream attention by being on stage at Coachella. That said, it's definitely not a 1:1 comparison and it'll be cool to see them carve their own path as a jaded old dude. Tbh, this is probably the best Scowl track yet for me as well, but I've never been particularly a huge fan.
My insomnia has been bad recently and I've had a headache all morning...context clues aren't my friend now. Lol
I guess I will drop this here. New signing to Relapse. FFO Sheer Mag and Devil Master Lo-Fi post punk meets goth?
we should now call it the Taco Bell effect because you haven’t made it until you in a Taco Bell commercial
