I’m happy they made it as big as they have. I’ve seen them more than 5 times, maybe 6 or 7, and while I’m now in a back-burner stage with them from overplaying/saturation I look forward to them trying to branch out a bit in the future.
Some of you may know, but just in case you don't, or you forgot... When I travel, or go to local record stores in my area, I like to go through the emo/punk/hardcore sections and pick out a couple 7 inch records that look interesting. I pick out just the ones of bands I've never heard of. It's generally very small bands from the 90s to early 2000s that only pressed like 200-500 copies of their records. https://www.youtube.com/@7inchitch I'll be uploading records to YouTube every Tuesday and Friday as long as I have new ones to share. Feel free to subscribe if this idea sounds up your alley. I've stumbled on some really awesome music this way. Originally, I had an Instagram account for this (@7inchitch) but I was only able to share a single song from each record, so it wasn't quite ideal. Especially for split EPs and compilations. So I've decided to turn my focus onto the YouTube channel. Anyway, sorry for the shameless self promo. Enjoy!
Saw Integrity and Spirit World tonight. Integrity was awesome, but Spirit World was kind of disappointing, tbh. They played proficiently but the tone or something just sounded flat and empty. And the vocals just weren't there live. I LOVE both records and was really excited to see them, but the sound just didn't translate live. @michael_gatto did you see the show in Austin? Thoughts?
Yeah I went Saturday in Austin. I honestly went my whole life without listening to Integrity but seeing them live was insane, definitely going to be digging into their discography. Honestly you hit the nail on the head with Spiritworld, which is a bummer. Deathwestern was one of my most listened to albums the later half of 2022 and it just didn't do it for me live. Not that they sound bad, something just sounded missing.
