I think they have definitely been one of those bands that is genre defying. I still enjoy everything they put out either way. I'm excited for the new record.
I like how much they crossover in terms of genres. The new song is really good and was so happy when I pressed play.
Vein is all I've been listening to the past few weeks. I hope we get a new resurgence of noisy/weird hardcore bands like Botch and Coalesce.
The music is good but it doesn't hide the fact that Todd Jones has had multiple cases of "foot in mouth" disease.
I won't defend some of the other things he has said in the past, but for Metalsucks to call him out for this without providing ANY context around his original comments is absolutely asinine and further reminds me why that site has become horrible over the years. To quote the top comment on the article: "Pretty clear to me that his original comments were referring to the fact that Record Store Day releases were getting pushed to the front of the production line, in turn causing "regular joe" bands to wait longer for their vinyl. So it has nothing to do with what color the vinyl is and as a result you sound like a bit of a dingus calling him out for it."
Since when is Joey Castillo drumming for Trash Talk?? That band has had such a random selection of drummers
Metal/heavy hardcore being big right now makes me miss Violation more and more. Not a lot of bands in the early 2000's did that crossover style better
Here is a throwback of live videos I made from Rainfest 2010 in Tacoma, WA bands on the video playlist are: THE GHOST INSIDE PUNCH OBLIVION MINDSET HARMS WAY XIBALBA COWARDICE DANGERS HAMMER BROS SIXES SABERTOOTH ZOMBIE INDESCISION GRAVEMAKER DISEMBODIED BROADWAY CALLS TRAPPED UNDER ICE SOJOURNER ROTTING OUT LEFT WITH NOTHING FOUNDATION BAD SEED POWER VANGUARD EARTH CONTROL (FORMERLY OWEN HART) PRESSURE TERROR SIDETRACKED TITLE FIGHT
Definitely some Strife influences in there. Also reminds a lot of the band Bolt from Denmark mixed with some E. Town Concrete.
I am sort of over the whole "spoken word" hardcore thing. I really liked earlier Verse records but fell off with the last two records. This sounds like a continuation of that.
