Watched one of his videos on data recovery and it was like listening to a wizard teach you magic in a foreign language while dreaming.
Bummer. They were pretty cool and had a good metalcore, hardcore and thrash thing going on. If I remember correctly, they were from Florida and signed to Bullettooth.
rise against has been coasting on fumes for years now so it ain't surprising the new hotness gets the bill over them.
I mean let’s give Turnstile credit. They have been kicking ass. Opening for MCR and now Blink 182? I predict them to get even bigger after this tour. By the way, I predict this tour to go just as well as the last time these three were reunited. Although, I am happy Mark is up to something of this magnitude.
Also, I’m surprised RA is still a fairly large band popularity wise, I figured people got bored of them past the 2000’s
I would say Rise Against hasn’t held as much popularity in the past 7-10 years as Turnstile currently has, and that their fan base probably has very little in the ages under 30. But, at their peak, they were likely 3x’s as popular as Turnstile’s current status. Every band ever toured under them, metalcore-hardcore-punk and everything in between. They were a great crossover band for so many artists to get exposure to new fans on tour. I always loved/laughed at the fact that much like RATM, macho bros and conservative morons loved them so much and never actually read lyrics.
To be fair, most of the guys were in hardcore and/or punk bands so I’m sure most of their fans just followed along. Also, being a politically charged punk band was kind of the in thing when they started.
Rohnert park is probably my favorite hardcore album of all time. Sick is probably my favorite hardcore song of all time. Everything about that album just hits.
