Attended Tied Down in Detroit over the weekend. Overall, it was awesome to see Trash Talk and several other good bands. Event was too long. There was noticeably less people after Never Ending Game played. I get they are the big Detroit hardcore band right now, but people passed on bands like Jesus Piece, Fiddlehead, and Trash Talk. There was another noticeable decline in people after Show Me The Body and Mindforce. I think going to two days with 8-9 bands each day makes more sense. The venue is awesome and perfect for this type of event though.
Literally ordered the new Rabbit and Captive tapes from them today. I'd also add: -New Morality Zine -Sunday Drive Records -Convulse Records -Streets of Hate -To Live A Lie -DAZE -Words of Fire Not necessarily exclusively tape labels, but those are some of my recent favorites. Edit - Also forgot the following: -625 Thrashcore -Iron Lung Records -Trip Machine Labs -Force of Reckoning Records -No Time Records -Not For The Weak Records -11 PM Records -Atomic Action Records
Delayed Gratification, New Morality Zine in Chicago, Sore Ear Collective in Rochester are some of my favorites and all do tapes. Streets of Hate does tapes too. Convulse, Daze, Other People Records, Forever Never Records, New Age, and Dropping Bombs are some other good labels off the top of my head.
I would say Triple B but meh... Iodine War Streets of Hate Raven Three One G Closed Casket The Coming Strife Church Road Safe Inside Run For Cover Last Ride Flatspot Iron Lung BDHW Jump Start Trying to get the ones people may have missed.
I saw that! Don't really care about Movements, honestly haven't spent much time listening to them, but I'd be there for the openers.
Had no idea that Scowl video has generated over 130, 000 views. That's insane. No wonder Limp Bizkit found them.
Lizzo Criticized Over New Split 7” With Spazz I know this is related to an issue of accountability and an admirable correction of it, but I still laughed harder than I should have at this.
I think it's uncertain at this point but it seems like the members are using the opportunity to give some love to their other projects.
Thanks, that makes sense, them and more recently, The Black Dahlia Murder (not hardcore, but still) losing their singers who were really important to the identity of the band makes me wonder if they would want to keep going or not.
I’ve assumed at some point whatever new music Power Trip had with Riley will see the light of day eventually. In terms of playing again, I could maybe see like a memorial show after the music is released and billed as a celebration of Riley and things like that in Dallas. Have a bunch of friends take turns doing songs, but I don’t really see the band continuing on beyond how it exists now.
