Got a chance to listen to the demo by Boston Strangler. Old school hardcore from Boston and features members of Mental, Righteous Jams and Mind Eraser. I think Deathwish repressed the demo with an extra track. Highly recommended!
React! is the shit. What else has been good this year? I think I only have the new Advent EP on my list. Stoked for Incendiary, Backtrack, Protester (they had a record release show last month - idk what's up with that), Society Abuse and Turnstile (at least I imagine that's happening - maybe not idk).
Foreseen has an EP out and an album coming out later this year. They're like a noisier, Finnish Power Trip. Also seconding the new Concealed Blade record. That's the best hardcore album of the year so far for me.
So pumped for that Higher Power record. Reminds me of the late 80's and early 90's hardcore. Heck, I even hear a little Anthrax in there.
My old coworker fronts this band. They're super awesome live. I saw them last week open for Nails. I'm glad to see them getting some recognition.
My friends just released an EP about a month ago. They are called Significant Loss. The recordings rock like early Comeback Kid I suppose. It's pretty cool. The last two songs are the best ones. Significant Loss, by Significant Loss
Soon enough my friend. Pretty sure this summer. I unfortunately am one of those people who feel that only having 1 original member, and that member being a vocalist makes them pretty much a cover band now. But, nonetheless their setlist recently is a crazy good mix of older songs and the new lead guitarist can play. Only wondering if he can write up to par with Jesse and Alex. Will always love this band regardless if they're done afterwards.
Our Most Anticipated hardcore releases of 2017 - Features - Alternative Press At the bottom of the page they have a little Counterparts interview and it looks to be a Fall release. Gives some insight into what to expect. The Difference... is my favorite but I'm looking forward to the next album based on what was said!
