Hear me out: Does anyone in here know of the band The A.K.A.'s are Everywhere!? The reason I ask is because Mike Ski, the singer's previous band Brother's Keeper, was a pretty popular hardcore band back in the mid 2000's. I was lucky enough to see their last show in Erie, PA with xrepresentx, Unearth, Architects(not the UK band), and Integrity. Mike was a hard pill to swallow where their early records had him sounding like a parrot. They got better as time went on though and I still own all their records, even their out of print Misfit's covers EP. Good melodic hardcore! Ok, I am done rambling! lol
I knew the AKA's. Saw them on different tours a few times when they were on Fueled By Ramen. They played on one of the last full US Midtown tours. I've never heard Brother's Keeper.
No, that album was their best selling record(and sadly their last). They released most, if not all, of their albums on Trustkill (now Bullet Tooth).
There was another band around at the same time that was a Christian folk group with the same name. They were definitely not a Christian Hardcore Band.
How about Across Five Aprils? I've been visiting my library, that's why I am bringing all these old bands up. I really like Life Underwater.
Damn, the new Iron Reagan record is freaking awesome. Them and Power Trip is a ridiculous tour. I'm so pumped for this concert. I've been to a lot of punk shows recently, so this will be a fun change.
Yeah, I like that record a lot. Classic hardcore punk. Do you know Protestor? I know there is a DC hxc band named Protester, but they don't show a concert in Cleveland tonight. I only did a quick check, but I couldn't find them.
So Power Trip and Iron Reagan ruled last night. The openers were really good too. A lot more younger and female in the crowd than I expected. Not complaining. So glad I went.
In talking with Phil last night from Iron Reagan, he said that the new Municipal Waste and Cannibis Corpse records are also already done. Dude is a beast haha.
I have tried so many times to get into Cannibis Corpse but just can't. I appreciate what they do though, for sure.
I haven't spent much time with the band to be honest. Mostly a Reagan and Waste fan. I think what they do is funny though. I don't smoke weed so listening to music talk about weed all the time makes little sense. But the idea of writing and recording three records at the same time is impressive, considering one of those bands is usually on the road touring.
