My buddy was at that show. Spy was one of the opening bands and he said they are one of the best live bands he has ever seen.
Thankfully, I have insomnia and had no life during the pandemic for ICF's release date last year so I copped a shirt and vinyl from Closed Casket when it dropped at like 12:05 AM on release day so that part was pretty easily remedied. :) High quality video of their first East Coast set from NYC the night before. So as not to double post, I listened to the new LP from Candy Apple for the first time since it released and it definitely clicked and will probably be a top 10 HC record for me for the year.
Man, I feel like Botch would’ve came back by now if that was gonna be a thing. It would stupid cool if they did but like the drummer said it best, he’s had all these people come up to him and talk about how Botch was and he’d say “Cool, why didn’t you buy a T-shirt and supported us then?” Like they’re definitely a huge seminal band that influenced tons of bands but they also seem like the kind of band that just never will reunite.
Looking at Botch’s Spotify page, I saw Coalesce in the recommended artist section and now I’m vibing out to Functioning on Impatience, the intro to You Can’t Kill Us All goes so goddamn hard.
