Looks like the show(s) went well last night. Bummed I couldn't go but I picked up the shirt MAD were selling last night.
same. there was more masking than i anticipated, but with the ventilation in the place, it's likely not gonna matter. though i'm luckily still feeling completely fine two days later so hopefully everything continues okay. it seems like the delta symptom onset is a bit quicker than og corona, but i know i'm not out of the water yet. i'm also glad my next show that i have tickets for is in october so i have a bit of time to wait and see how this plays out before i go back to show. the show was good enough for me to at least get that itch out of my system for a bit.
Hate to be a Debbie downer but there is a new lambda variant that is resistant to the vaccine. I think shows could stop in the next month or so.
Given how the reaction to the delta variant has been, I don't doubt it. For the sake of my mental health, I'm glad I got the itch out of my system.
My understanding is that the data on vaccine resistance is inconclusive but shows that, at least in the lab, the lambda variant's vaccine resistance is about the same as Delta, except maybe with J&J.
As far as I know from the infectious disease doctors at our hospital they are saying anyone with J&J will probably need a booster and will most likely happen for the other two as well. They are still learning about the lambda strain. At this point, any healthcare worker or person that works in a hospital MUST be a vaccinated in the state of North Carolina.
Not sure if this has already been brought up on here, but does anyone know if the surprise Bane show a while ago is indicative of them being back or if it was just a one time thing for Stu?
