Maybe some Urban Dance Squad too (going way back)

  2. I listened to a this a couple of times and my biggest issue is Matt's vocals...he sounds uninterested, there's a lack of emotion or force behind it.

@Nate_Johnson you'd get down with this song. It features Jon Gula from Turmoil on guest vocals:

    I Want To Be There

My favorite SYG material is their Reset EP

  7. Everything SYG recorded jams, except for album 3.

My question is: why do they need two vocalists that sound exactly the same?!

  9. I’ve been listening to this a lot lately. I’m sure this has been posted and I’m sure this where I discovered it but it’s worth reposting.

I never really found them to be all that similar. Matt Wilson has a much whinier tone to his voice haha

They truly sound nothing alike imo lol

And everything does in fact bang except BABE (I like maybe half of it though)

In that song that @Elder Lightning posted, if I closed my eyes I could not tell you there were two vocalists.

I can totally understand someone hating their last record, but This Will Be the Death of Us was a ton of fun.

That song isn’t a great example, I don’t think. Jordan is singing in a higher register there than he typically does. This is a better example:

Loved the second record when it came out but it’s too “easycore” and extremely overproduced

Reset just didn’t age very well

Still don’t hear it but oh well! Also, this is considered hardcore?

Their earlier stuff is closer to melodic hardcore

I remember SYG releasing Gaia Bleeds as the lead single and many were super confused/put off by it. I don’t think the track is bad per se, but definitely a one-off style and approach for them. None of the rest of that album except the title track even remotely sound the same.

Also, I don’t think the second album was that bad overall. Their best track ever is on it.
