They print their own shirts. Also that stuff costs money and bands haven't been able to tour or play any shows for almost a year now. I'm not trying to be a dick but it's not as simple as just print more shirts or press more records, things take time and money to do.
It’s worth noting too that right now, pressing plants are much busier than before and it’s not that simple to just get a whole new batch of records pressed when bigger labels with more money and clout are at the front of the line getting their stuff pressed first.
But Gulch's labels have put out subsequent pressings consistently of their primary releases at least. Creator Destructor is on their fifth(?) pressing of Burning Desire To Draw Last Breath and Closed Casket still has some copies of two variants of the third press of Impenetrable Cerebral Fortress. Closed Casket also still looks like they have a couple shirts up, though they are out of some sizes. Not sure about Sunami, but I know Creator Destructor had some variants of their last release up for a while. Every band in recent memory has put out limited merch and variants of their records. In turn, that scarcity and hype drives demand on the secondary market. As a result if there's enough demand, it'll get repressed from a primary source (despite what BBB says in the record description for this, methinks). Gulch isn't the first band this has happened with, and they'll be far from the last. It also helps when you put out a standard pressing like they did with this split (1500 on black that's still available as of me typing this). I feel like they learned their lesson when the first press of ICF sold out in minutes. It's just aided by the fact they are a hype band at the moment. Which is deserved IMO, but I know I'm biased AF there.
also everything i'm saying applies to how i feel about any band that has their stuff resold for insane prices. it's just mad dumb and makes it harder for fans to actually get their hands on merch by their favorite bands.
Oh nice! Revelation has a podcast where they talk about records/bands in their back catalogue. Where It Went Podcast on Apple Podcasts
Re: Gulch/Sunami (and by extension Drain), so many bands/people in hardcore take themselves way too seriously, it's kinda refreshing to see these bands take the piss out of that. From all reports they seem like chill dudes and Gulch and Drain released two of the best LPs of 2020 imo and the split rips so I'm into it.
I couldn’t really get into either of the two. Just felt like I had heard it all before (not to sound elitist but it’s sort of the truth) Same goes for Drain but I did really like the last LP from them.
I like Sunami as a bit/gag more than I like their music but these are definitely their best two songs. The new Gulch songs rule.
The whole, “you’re either from the Bay or you’re a b*tch” line is def a joke. And they had the fake beef with Gulch going for a bit.
