Day 2 is where it's at

 

I think the current metalcore revival is extremely hit or miss (mostly miss), but I really enjoyed the Sanction record from last year.

 

I said Day 2 is where it's at, but I will amend that and say that I do NOT like Varials at all

 

I liked the renounced record along with Sanction last year.

 

I think it’s more “Metallic hardcore” than Metalcore that’s coming back around. I agree that its hit or miss but it’s great to hear the early Trustkill and Ferret Records sound again.

With that being said, Holy Roar is killing it.

 

Day 1 is pretty damn good too.

 

yeah I mean I think it's all semantics (I'm just killing time at the office) but stuff like Sanction, Vatican, Orthodox, etc feels distinctly metalcore to me. Metallic hardcore is generally cool with me

Yeah I like Orthodox. You'll probably dig them. Kinda have a numetal vibe at times.

 

I got three songs into their newest record and turned it off. Not a fan.

 

All I can think of when I see that name is one of my favorite hardcore records of all time:

Native was such an underrated band. Great live act too.

 

native is good but they just make me think of cloakroom, who i like a lot more

Just checked out Orthodox. They remind me of a hardcore version of Cane Hill. I’ll listen to the full album.

 

they have two albums lol. the vocalist of native plays bass in the band.

could never get as much into cloakroom, but they've good live. listening to them makes me miss native lol.
