Been in a mood for violent crust music, can someone give me some recommendations? I know a fair bit, but I want to see if anyone has any hidden gems or reminders of bands I forgot about. Bonus points if they have a blackened tinge.

It’s not pure crust, but def in the influences, but the latest Joy record is really good. Also, the last Tragedy ep was really good.

YES. Came in here to make sure this got posted. So good. They're from (sorta) middle of nowhere Canada. Was supposed to see them last summer but their Maryland date fell thru, couldn't find a suitable venue or something. Some friends went to see them in Philly (I think they know them, played some shows, they've been around for like 6 or 7 years) but I had to work. That sucked.

I was supposed to go to this last year, but I was only vaguely familiar with Stepping Stone at the time and have seen the other (local) acts a ton, so I skipped out. Wishing I had gone now.

Is the Buried Alive 7” a real thing? The article I read said B9 was doing it but I haven’t seen anything from them. There was an active page on Amazon for it, which seems odd.

I have to imagine it's legit just based on that PR blurb.

Listening to Merauder and it got me thinking what HC records have amazing production? Everything on Master Killer absolutely hits, esp. the drums
