Joke or not, people are wearing boxing gloves in their pits and literally just beating people up. Despite the fact that I don't and haven't moshed in 15 years, I wanted to defend moshing/crowd surfing in the Accountability thread, but shit like Sunami just makes the whole genre look bad, imo.
Haha. I don't know. Seems similar, but almost worse because at least Bad Luck kind of looked like debaucherous fun. This just looks like a beatdown show with a bunch of dudes that aren't particularly built or in good shape beating on each other. Their "slogan" is "your a bitch" which bothers me even more because on top of being misogynistic/just plain lame, it's gramatically incorrect.
I guess it's supposed to be a joke, but it seems pretty lame to me. Maybe I'm just missing the point. Curious to hear others thoughts.
I think most people in hardcore know ignorant beat down is silly and don’t take it very seriously. These kinds of bands have a short shelf life anyways. btw the cringiest band in music is Cigarettes After Sex.
I’m not going to sit here and say “x band is the most cringe band...” (because I’m sure I am guilty of listening to some pretty terrible bands!) With that being said, it’s outright deplorable to incite violence.
Sorry to anyone I offend that is a Tsunami fan but the riffs are done before and that mosh looked corny as fuck. Beat down crowds don’t look like they used to, just comes across as guys looking for their moment to look tough. Bands who were known for that type of thing, while as deplorable as it is, didn’t encourage it or make it a gimmick to appear hard. It was just simply incited lyrically or by the energy of the band. The people at shows I went to that wound up hurting others didn’t turn around and just swing at people’s faces like that. They were very athletic, built hardcore kids with the energy to mosh an entire set and actually had moves that unfortunately would catch bystanders indirectly. Last/newest band I felt actually did that naturally was Xibalba.
I love the head-swiveling looks for acknowledgment in between songs after crowd killing. "The cheering is for me". I like a rough room but it cracks me up that there's always a dude willing to go to that extreme for attention. Always followed by two fists in the air and pretending to be oblivious that some of those haymakers landed on faces.
The whole Sunami thing seems like a joke that I would be that 95% of that crowd is already privy to. It looks pretty dumb but whatever, people are gonna pretend to be upset about it.

I love the new Fiddlehead tracks but I can’t justify buying 7 inches anymore. Plus the bundle with the shirt comes out to almost $40
