I just watched an interview with Chris Hornbrook, one of the original members of PTW and he actually did some drumming for Trash Talk for a bit. He said it was a blast.
They had everyone in the pit up front run to the lawn at the end of their set. It was utter chaos. People were leaping over guard rails going in and out of the pit. Security was losing their minds. This is after the singer went into the pit for half their set and then offered $100 to the first person to get on stage (there was a barrier)
Trash Talk is a wild time live. Feel like they fell off a bit, but for a while when I was in high school it felt like they were Turnstile level popular.
They actually opened for Turnstile last night (and Denzel Curry and $uicideboy$ but I left before $B$) Trash Talk got the crowd WAY more hype than Turnstile though. But it wasn't really either band's usual audience.
With Trash Talk's history with Odd Future, wouldn't surprise me if they were the one hardcore band a lot of hip hop fans knew
I was pretty big into Trash Talk back like 10 years ago during their S/T and Eyes & Nines days. I actually remember getting scolded by one of the higher ups at the college radio station I worked at when I put their album in rotation because I forgot to list the right tracks that were not "FCC compliant" since that album had a bunch of curse words on it that we couldn't air unless we wanted to lose our broadcast license. Lol. Their career trajectory since they has been pretty crazy.
I remember back when The B9 was still a thing, Joe Hardcore shared a story about how Garrett basically threatened Tre from Deathwish to hurt him so Joe confronted him about it. In his words, people had to beg him not to go after Garrett so he let it go. He also mentioned that Jacob Bannon pretty much washed his hands of them after that, even blowing Garrett off at a show when Garrett tried to apologize.
There's a new Proboards iteration of theb9: Home | BOARD IS LIFE Not that it can replace the redeeming lost content of that place.
Wwwwwhhhhaaaaa? I had no idea that was a thing. True though, there was some legendary threads on the old side. The Things That Are Legit thread was pure gold
It might just be another case of TSOPTC being such an unfuckwithable monolith, but I was hoping for something more after the comeback album being such a disappointment.
